The WWE Women's Tag Team Championship has changed hands as Nikki A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley defeated Natalya and Tamina to win the titles on the September 20, 2021 edition of Monday Night Raw.
My immediate reaction: Once you dedicate a match to kids suffering from pediatric cancer, you absolutely cannot lose. That would just be horrendous. I'm curious why WWE went out of the way to give Nox and Shotzi so many contender matches and set them up for title shots, just to have the belts switch over to Nikki and Rhea. That sort of "I don't like the idea I came up with and keep going back to" booking is baffling. But hey, I'm down for Cross and Ripley as champions. These belts don't mean much, so it's not like there's a huge lineage to live up to. This gives them a reason to not be continually fighting for the other women's titles and keeps them in the spotlight a bit. Nattie and Tamina held their belts long enough, too.
Since this happened, be sure to check out the updated full list of title changes for this year and the list of current champions and my predictions for who will take the belts away from them.
