- Roman Reigns comes down to the ring with The Bloodline to start the show. He says they run WWE and New York City, and demands to be acknowledged. Brock Lesnar comes out, squaring off with The Tribal Chief. Paul Heyman questions why Lesnar is after this title, but Lesnar asks why Heyman never told Reigns he would be turning up at SummerSlam. Heyman denies this, leading to Reigns skulking off. Lesnar demands his shot at Reigns and the WWE Universal Championship, and attenpts to F5 Heyman. Reigns attacks him, but Lesnar clears the ring of The Bloodline.
- Backstage, Kayla Braxton asks Paul Heyman for an answer to Brock Lesnar's challenge, but Roman Reigns will answer him whennhe is ready to.
- Sami Zayn brings out Trae Young to a huge chorus of boos.
- Big E, Shinsuke Nakamura, Rick Boogs, Rey Mysterio, and Dominik Mysterio defeated Otis, Apollo Crews, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode by pinfall.
- Big E suggests he could cash in tonight, or he could cash in on Raw instead, sending a warning to both Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley.
- Bianca Belair makes her way down to the ring. She praises Becky Lynch, but highlights how she is running away from the fight. She signs the contract, which prompts Lynch to come down to the ring. She runs her mouth off and threatens to not sign the contract. She kicks off at the fans for favouring Belair over her, before signing the contract and leaving the ring.
- Kayla Braxton asked for an update from Paul Heyman, who says live tonight, The Tribal Chief will answer the challenge of Brock Lesnar. Big E arrives and shows Heyman his Money in the Bank briefcase.
- Seth Rollins defeated Edge by pinfall.
- Post match, Edge is taken away on a stretcher. Rollins is lost for words when interviewed backstage.
- Roman Reigns rallies The Bloodline backstage. Reigns asks Heyman why he never told him about Brock Lesnar turning up at SummerSlam, but Heyman has no answer.
- The Street Profits defeated The Usos by disqualification. The Usos retain the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
- Roman Reigns promises to smash Brock Lesnar after he smashes Finn Balor at Extreme Rules, but Balor comes out as The Demon King to staredown Reigns.
