Welcome to another edition of WOMEN'S WRESTLING WEEKLY—a rundown of the events which have transpired in the world of women's professional wrestling over the past several days not just with the Superstars on WWE programming, but with Impact Wrestling's Knockouts, ROH's Women of Honor, and even a glimpse at the women on the independent circuit.
WWE Monday Night Raw
Tamina & Natalya vs Rhea Ripley & Nikki A.S.H.
The one thing I did enjoy about this match was the narrative that Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. are this oddball team that shouldn't really be tagging together. I'd like it even more if it wasn't being done a thousand times better with R-K-Bro. At least the match action wasn't terrible, but I just did not enjoy the souless competition on show.
Winner: Rhea Ripley & Nikki A.S.H.
Rating: 2/5
Charlotte Flair vs Nia Jax
Unfortunately, this was just not enjoyable. The match never really featured any real momentum for Nia Jax, therefore Charlotte Flair's victory had a real air of inevitability about it. Whilst not outright bad, this was not a strong Raw Women's Championship match.
Winner: Charlotte Flair
Rating: 2/5
AEW Dark: Elevation
Emi Sakura vs Missa Kate
Squash City!
Winner: Emi Sakura
Rating: 2/5
Kiera Hogan vs Blair Onyx
Squash City!
Winner: Kiera Hogan
Rating: 2/5
Nyla Rose vs Laynie Luck
Squash City!
Winner: Nyla Rose
Rating: 2/5
Red Velvet vs Queen Aminata
Squash City!
Winner: Red Velvet
Rating: 2/5
Riho vs Skye Blue
I like when AEW put on slightly longer matches on Dark and Elevation, as it makes the show feel more than just a platform for squash matches. Although Riho was the clear star here, Skye Blue more than held her own in defeat.
Winner: Riho
Rating: 2.5/5
WWE NXT
Ember Moon vs Kay Lee Ray
This was the perfect way to kick off NXT this week, with both women competing to prove they are worthy of a lofty position within NXT's women's division. Kay Lee Ray was the clear favourite, but Ember Moon more than brought her own to the contest, coming close to victory herself. Ray won, however, proving she will be a worthy foe to Raquel Gonzalez and the NXT Women's Championship.
Winner: Kay Lee Ray
Rating: 3/5
Io Shirai & Zoey Stark vs Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter
Whilst a standard NXT women's tag team match, this was fairly enjoyable as the oddball team of Io Shirai and Zoey Stark were almost taken to the limit by the established team of Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter. A fair enough contest, this never really got out of third gear, with Shirai and Stark good money for their victory.
Winner: Io Shirai & Zoey Stark
Rating: 2.5/5
Mei Ying vs Virginia Ferry
Squash City!
Winner: Mei Ying
Rating: 2/5
AEW Dark
The Bunny vs Laynie Luck
Squash City!
Winner: The Bunny
Rating: 2/5
Big Swole vs Diamante
This was a Three Strikes match, which was a genuinely entertaining way to make this week's episode of Dark stand out. Both women worked hard, with Diamante in particular showing how much better she has been as a singles star. Big Swole took the win, but both women can walk out of this match with their heads held high.
Winner: Big Swole
Rating: 3/5
AEW Wednesday Night Dynamite
Jamie Hayter vs Ruby Soho
A match that only really served as an exhibition for Ruby Soho, this was a fair bout, but it didn't really have much substance past Soho easily coming out on top.
Winner: Ruby Soho
Rating: 2.5/5
WWE Main Event
Dana Brooke vs Doudrop
Doudrop followed up on her phantom win over Eva Marie by making Dana Brooke look better than she has for a number of months. Doudrop may not be in a position to show just how dangerous she can be, but she worked hard to make herself and Brooke look great, winning the match with admittedly little effort.
Winner: Doudrop
Rating: 2.5/5
Impact Wrestling
Rosemary vs Tasha Steelz
Offering not much more than the standard Knockout's match, this was simply a decent contest. Rosemary continues to look like the star of the division, whilst Tasha Steelz reminded fans that she is still relevant. Rosemary won, which is a fair result all things considered.
Winner: Rosemary
Rating: 2.5/5
WWE NXT UK
There were no women's matches this week.
WWE Friday Night SmackDown
There were no women's matches this week, however the contract signing segment between Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair was superb!
AEW Rampage
Britt Baker, Rebel, & Jamie Hayter vs Ruby Soho, Riho, & Kris Statlander
This felt like an angle masquerading as a match. The result was fair, as Ruby Soho's team were good value for their victory, but the match itself lacked any real fire.
Winner: Ruby Soho, Riho, & Kris Statlander
Rating: 2.5/5
MATCH OF THE WEEK:
Big Swole vs Diamante
As a Three Strikes match, this contest had enough excitement about it to make it stand out from the rest of the show.
WOMAN OF THE WEEK:
Bianca Belair
Bianca Belair arrived in New York, dazzling the fans inside Madison Square Garden as she proved she more than deserves to hang with Becky Lynch at the top of the card.
DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE WEEK:
Thea Trinidad Not Wrestling on SmackDown!
Having her match cut was disappointing enough, but surely her connections to 9/11 made her appearing a no brainer?
