Future Endeavors: WWE Releases Bronson Reed, Mercedes Martinez and More

Posted by Anthony Mango Friday, August 6, 2021

Every week now, it seems like there is another list of WWE Superstars released. As of August 6, 2021, the following people are added to the list of those let go from World Wrestling Entertainment:

  • Ari Sterling
  • Asher Hale
  • Bobby Fish
  • Bronson Reed
  • Desmond Troy
  • Giant Zanjeer
  • Jake Atlas
  • Kona Reeves
  • Leon Ruff
  • Mercedes Martinez
  • Stephon Smith
  • Tyler Rust
  • Zechariah Smith

My reaction: I'm kind of numb to it at this point. This is ridiculous. Why are there so many people who are only recently hired and then fired? Why are there so many people who received pushes and then get fired? How does WWE continue to report record profits and then still feel like they need to cut costs for 2 years?! How many people are going to be on the roster when this is all over and done with? And who the hell is out there and doesn't realize that one of the biggest problems in WWE in recent years has been repetitive rematches and the only way to avoid that is to have more people on the roster? Some of these people didn't amount to anything because they never had a chance. Some of them were really legitimately serving a great role on the roster and they still felt like they needed to cut them. Is the goal to just have 10 people and 20 hours of television revolving around them?
