WWE NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver 2021 Results

NIGHT 1 - APRIL 7:

Pre-Show Match: Toni Storm vs. Zoey Stark

RESULT: Zoey Stark won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Very surprised Stark won. This match was a solid enough appetizer just to whet everyone's appetites and now that Stark won, we've got something to talk about other than just "Storm won, as expected."

Kushida vs. Pete Dunne

RESULT: Pete Dunne won by pinfall .
THOUGHTS: I didn't dislike it by any means, but I'd be overrating it if I said it was great. This just wasn't memorable and felt more like a regular TV match than something that was supposed to be special.

NXT North American Championship No. 1 Contender's Gauntlet Eliminator Match: Bronson Reed vs. Cameron Grimes vs. Dexter Lumis vs. Isaiah "Swerve" Scott vs. LA Knight vs. Leon Ruff

Entry order will be: Leon Ruff, Isaiah "Swerve" Scott, Bronson Reed, Cameron Grimes, Dexter Lumis and then LA Knight

RESULT: Bronson Reed won by last eliminating Isaiah "Swerve" Scott by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: I'm surprised. I figured Dexter Lumis had this won just to finish that story with Johnny Gargano. But hey, I'm not disappointed in the result at all. I like Reed. This was a good enough means to eat up a lot of time on this show and I enjoyed it.

NXT UK Championship Match: WALTER (c) vs. Tommaso Ciampa

RESULT: WALTER retained the title by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Very good match! I loved the story throughout about WALTER's hand being taken out of commission. That was a great hook to build around.

Vacated NXT Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match: Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake and Zack Gibson) vs. Legado Del Fantasma (Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza) vs. MSK (Nash Carter and Wes Lee)

RESULT: MSK won by pinfall (Wes Lee pinned Zack Gibson) to become the new champions.
THOUGHTS: Another very good match, as expected. These three teams are just fun to watch and there were a few moments I thought it was about to end, so they got me on those near-falls.

NXT Women's Championship Match: Io Shirai (c) vs. Raquel Gonzalez

RESULT: Raquel Gonzalez won the belt by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Outside of the botched pin at one point that was definitely a three-count, this was good.

NIGHT 2 - APRIL 8:

Pre-Show Match: Breezango (Fandango and Tyler Breeze) vs. Drake Maverick and Killian Dain

RESULT: Drake Maverick and Killian Dain won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Solid match. I'm glad they made this a #1 contender's match to give it some value beyond just filling up some time on the pre-show. I like both teams, so I was fine with either outcome, too, which helped. Thumbs up.

NXT Cruiserweight Championship Unification Ladder Match: Jordan Devlin (c) vs. Santos Escobar (c)

RESULT: Santos Escobar won and has unified the titles.
THOUGHTS: Undisputed champion! Good match with a good outcome. I dig it. My favorite moment was probably Devlin's moonsault off the ladder.

NXT Women's Tag Team Championship Match: Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart (c) vs. The Way (Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell)

RESULT: Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Disappointed in both the outcome and the match itself, if I'm honest.

NXT North American Championship Match: Johnny Gargano (c) vs. Bronson Reed

RESULT: Johnny Gargano retained by pinfall submission - Bronson Reed won the title by pinfall!
THOUGHTS: I wasn't as much of a fan of this as I had expected and hoped, if I'm being honest. It was fine, but it's nowhere near up to Gargano's usual level.

NXT Championship Match: Finn Balor (c) vs. Karrion Kross

RESULT: Karrion Kross won the title by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Perhaps the best match we've seen from Kross so far. The outcome was predictable, but how much of a fight Balor put into it wasn't something I saw coming. I enjoyed this, overall.

Unsanctioned Match: Adam Cole vs. Kyle O'Reilly

RESULT: Kyle O'Reilly won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Very good match. It went on a little long for some tastes, I'm sure, but I enjoyed it through and through.
