WWE Survivor Series 2021 Spoilers |
Note: This team is no longer valid. The teams are still in flux. |
5-on-5 Men's Survivor Series Elimination Match: Team Raw (Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Austin Theory and Bobby Lashley) vs. Team SmackDown (Drew McIntyre, Jeff Hardy, King Xavier Woods, Baron Corbin and Sheamus)
Dominik and Rey Mysterio are on Team Raw, but not Bobby Lashley, Edge, Austin Theory or AJ Styles? I would have said "How are Keith Lee and Karrion Kross not on here?" a few days ago, but they're released. Stupid.
UPDATE: Well, Lashley booted Dominik off the team, so that was just a means for WWE to pull a fast one and surprise people with a switch. Now, the team is better and it makes more sense, and I'm all for the "gotcha" they did, in theory. I've yet to see Raw and how it went down, exactly, to judge the execution of the idea.
UPDATE #2: Rey Mysterio's been booted off the team in favor of Austin Theory. While I like the idea behind that in theory, it also has become self-defeating. Adam Pearce wanted the whole team to be former WWE champions, which made sense for why Dominik was taken out. Pearce allowing Theory to get on board defies that logic. If they're really going down the "Pearce is a heel" route, I'm not super big on that. If they're not, then why was this a thing? Hopefully, Theory has a good showing. I'd love for him to be the last person eliminated, for example.
Surprises for Team SmackDown aren't really there. This is essentially the team I thought we'd get. The only other options would have been Cesaro, Mansoor, Ricochet, Ridge Holland and Sheamus, as I doubted Kofi Kingston AND Xavier Woods would be on there, and I didn't have a lot of faith they'd prioritize Jinder Mahal.
I'd expect SmackDown to win so Drew McIntyre can be the next challenger for Roman Reigns after leading his team to victory.
SMACKDOWN UPDATE: Sami Zayn's off the team. No replacement has been announced. I'm assuming it will be Ridge Holland or Sheamus.
SMACKDOWN UPDATE 2: Sheamus is on the team after winning a Fatal 4-Way. I'm cool with that.
PREDICTION: Team SmackDown wins.
Note: Aliyah's replacement has yet to be announced and this team lineup is no longer valid. |
5-on-5 Women's Survivor Series Elimination Match: Team Raw (Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, Carmella and Queen Zelina Vega) vs. Team SmackDown (Sasha Banks, Shayna Baszler, Shotzi Blackheart, Natalya and Toni Storm)
I'm really surprised Doudrop didn't make Team Raw. Nikki A.S.H. seems like an odd choice to keep out, too, but I guess there just wasn't enough room and they want to make Vega, Morgan and Carmella bigger priorities. It certainly wouldn't have been Belair or Ripley who were taken out of the team in favor of A.S.H.
As far as Team SmackDown, I'm not surprised to see Naomi not on there, but I'm surprised Aliyah's there instead of Toni Storm or even Xia Li.
With regards to the winning team, let's go with Raw so Belair gets a positive to counteract her recent string of losses.
UPDATE: Aliyah's been booted off the team and replaced by Toni Storm.
PREDICTION: Team Raw wins.
Champion vs. Champion Match: Big E vs. Roman Reigns
WWE thankfully had the foresight to start building this a few weeks back. While it's pretty straightforward champion versus champion material, I think the match will be fun. It's also obvious who will win in the long run, but that's okay, too. There's no way The Tribal Chief comes up short, but Big E should put up a fight in the process.
Champion vs. Champion Match: Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair
Let's see how this one goes down based on the reports that Flair's been having a bit of an attitude issue. I would assume Becky wins this, if not just because that's a means to prove a point to Flair and to punish her. Also, though, Becky will be the default babyface. As far as excitement levels go, I'm not super into it. They're great, but we've seen it a thousand times. I doubt they'll do anything that hasn't already been done. It'll be good, but I don't think it'll end up being worth my time to revisit AGAIN.
Champion vs. Champion Match: Damian Priest vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
I had thought there was a chance Shinsuke Nakamura would drop the title ahead of time so they'd do a switcharoo. Since that doesn't appear to be the case, I think this is a flat out "let's see the match" type of deal and not much more than that. Priest has had a much better win-loss ratio this year, despite how Nakamura's had some major victories in his own right. I'm going with The Archer of Infamy.
Champion vs. Champion Match: RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Riddle) vs. The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso)
The Usos have an advantage here in that their association with Roman Reigns could give them a boost. Orton and Riddle are bigger singles stars, which WWE puts more of a focus on, so that could be the rationality behind them winning. Ultimately, I think this comes down to numbers. If Raw or SmackDown needs another win for the tally, that team wins this match.

25-Man Battle Royal
These types of matches don't really matter to WWE, so it's a coin flip. Considering how much chaos has been going on with the company pushing people and then firing them the next week, it's highly doubtful there's any actual ideas in mind of who to give the win to. If so, that's because there's ONE person they have in mind to give a spotlight to, and that could even change drastically. For all we know, the winner could be fired by the end of the night.
Participants reportedly include: AJ Styles, Angel Garza, Angelo Dawkins, Apollo Crews, Cedric Alexander, Cesaro, Chad Gable, Commander Azeez, Dolph Ziggler, Drew Gulak, Erik, Humberto Carrillo, Ivar, Jinder Mahal, Mansoor, Montez Ford, Omos, Otis, R-Truth, Ricochet, Robert Roode, Sami Zayn, Shanky, Shelton Benjamin, T-Bar
