WWE Survivor Series 2021 Results |
Champion vs. Champion Match: Damian Priest vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
RESULT: Shinsuke Nakamura won by disqualification.
THOUGHTS: I was enjoying the match, but I didn't like the ending. I don't think Priest works as well as a heel and I don't think disqualifications should happen on pay-per-views—particularly when it's a "big five" event.
Champion vs. Champion Match: Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair
RESULT: Becky Lynch won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Good match with a good ending by having Flair get caught trying to hold the ropes, only for Lynch to do the same and steal a victory.
5-on-5 Men's Survivor Series Elimination Match: Team Raw (Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Austin Theory and Bobby ) vs. Team SmackDown (Drew McIntyre, Jeff Hardy, King Xavier Woods, Baron Corbin and Sheamus)
Kevin Owens is eliminated by count-out when he refuses to start the match and just walks off, leaving Team Raw down a member.
Happy Corbin is eliminated by Finn Balor (pinfall)
King Woods is eliminated by Bobby Lashley (submission)
Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre are both counted out while brawling outside. (Crowd boos)
Finn Balor is eliminated by Sheamus (pinfall)
Sheamus is eliminated by Austin Theory (pinfall)
Austin Theory is eliminated by Jeff Hardy (pinfall)
Jeff Hardy is eliminated by Seth Rollins (pinfall)
RESULT: Team Raw wins.
THOUGHTS: Well, I was wrong about that one, that's for sure. I enjoyed the match from start to finish, even though I disagree with some of the eliminations. In particular, I really don't think this was necessary for Rollins to get the spotlight of all people.
25-Man Battle Royal
RESULT: Omos won.THOUGHTS: I enjoy battle royal matches, so I enjoyed this. However, it was so much of a Pizza Hut and Red Notice plug more than anything else that I have to ding it for that.
Champion vs. Champion Match: RK-Bro vs. The Usos
RESULT: RK-Bro won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Solid match, but nothing you need to go back and watch if you missed it.
5-on-5 Women's Survivor Series Elimination Match: Team Raw (Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, Carmella and Queen Zelina Vega) vs. Team SmackDown (Sasha Banks, Shayna Baszler, Shotzi Blackheart, Natalya and Toni Storm)
Carmella is eliminated by Toni Storm (pinfall)
Queen Zelina Vega is eliminated by Toni Storm (pinfall)
Toni Storm is eliminated by Liv Morgan (pinfall)
Liv Morgan is eliminated by Sasha Banks (pinfall)
Rhea Ripley is eliminated by Shayna Baszler (pinfall)
Sasha Banks was counted out when her team prevented her from getting back into the ring
Natalya is eliminated by Bianca Belair (pinfall)
Shayna Baszler is eliminated by Bianca Belair (pinfall)
Shotzi is eliminated by Bianca Belair (pinfall)
RESULT: Team Raw won.
THOUGHTS: So Raw wins everything except a DQ in the kickoff, and both sole survivors are people who would be kind of a waste as Belair just getting another shot at Becky is ridiculous while Rollins is already No. 1 contender to Big E. This event hasn't been bad, but it's proving how little WWE cares about putting thought into these things and how much they depend on the wrestlers to just go out and have good matches to save bad booking.
Champion vs. Champion Match: Big E vs. Roman Reigns
THOUGHTS: Decent enough match, but one that ultimately left me feeling as I expected, in that it shouldn't have been in the main event because it was too predictable.
