Raw Women's Championship Triple Threat Match: Nikki A.S.H. (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley
The cynic in me thinks Nikki won the title just to get one of the briefcases out of the way, pop the audience on that episode of Raw and to get Flair to another title reign while proving doubters wrong that it wouldn't just be one of the more obvious picks, rather than A.S.H.
That cynic part of me also thinks Flair is just winning the belt back and things will proceed as they really are supposed to, in WWE's mind, with this Nikki stuff just being a detour for a temporary time-killer.
I have zero faith the belt goes back to Ripley, that's for sure. It either stays where it's at, or The Queen wins it.
Considering the likelihood Becky Lynch is coming back soon and they'll put her with Flair, who always wins these kinds of things, the safe bet isn't for the champion to retain, but for Flair to win the title another time.
PREDICTION: Charlotte Flair wins the title.
Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. John Cena
We knew this was in the works. They just happened to take a roundabout way to get to that point, involving Baron Corbin and Finn Balor.
I expect this to be the main event and a much better match than Goldberg vs. Lashley. I also fully expect Reigns to retain, as I can't imagine any way whatsoever that Cena is going to win the championship. I'd like to see that happen at some point, since he should break the 17th world title runs and win the belt he hasn't won, but now is not the when for that occurrence.
PREDICTION: Roman Reigns retains the title.
WWE Championship Match: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Goldberg
Spear. Spear. Failed Jackhammer. Spear. Dominator or Hurt Lock. The end.
PREDICTION: Bobby Lashley retains the title.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: The Usos (c) vs. Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio
Broken record: The Mysterios should have won the titles at WrestleMania, then dropped the belts to The Usos around here, rather than this being several matches deep into their situation. Frankly, I don't think this needs to be on the card, as it could have worked as a SmackDown match instead. I hope nothing else gets booted off the event for it.
With that being said, this match will be good. I'm a fan of both teams, so either outcome is cool with me.
SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Bianca Belair (c) vs. Sasha Banks
It's the easy, simple way to do things, but I don't blame them. At least this wasn't the fifth match they had in the past few months or anything of that sort. Their WrestleMania clash was one of the biggest highlights, but while I expect this match to be great, I think it'll get swallowed up with the rest of the card and be placed somewhere more in the midcard. It's certainly not going to be the main event.
I'm looking forward to it. There's even a chance The Boss wins the title so they have more of a reason to carry the feud into Extreme Rules. Then again, they don't have to. They might just have another match even with Belair retaining.
At the moment, I'm leaning more toward that, but it wouldn't shock me if the belt changed hands.
PREDICTION: Bianca Belair retains the title.
Edge vs. Seth Rollins
On the list of opponents who would make sense for Edge to face during this last stretch of his career, Seth Rollins is one of the top contenders. This was definitely something worthy of SummerSlam and I'm glad they came around to it.
After coming up short at both WrestleMania and in singles action against Roman Reigns, I'm confident Edge is victorious to offset those losses.
United States Championship Match: Sheamus (c) vs. Damian Priest
This was the obvious natural direction of things for several weeks. If they hadn't booked this, I would have been surprised and annoyed.
Priest should win the belt. It's time for a new champion, as Sheamus has run through enough of the roster with the same gimmick that I can't imagine the next stretch of time would be worthwhile. Priest offers something different and proved himself worthy of a midcard title with the North American Championship.
PREDICTION: Damian Priest wins the belt.
Drew McIntyre vs. Jinder Mahal
This feud over a sword that isn't Drew's actual sword and actually wasn't ever Drew's to begin with that led to Drew wrecking Jinder's motorcycle that isn't his motorcycle but it's a toy certainly could have been better, but we've seen far worse. McIntyre is definitely trying to get this over as well as he can, and I'm willing to go with it for a filler midcard match.
There are two outcomes here as I see it. McIntyre wins and they carry it forward and do a gimmick match at Extreme Rules, or Mahal wins through shenanigans by Veer and Shanky, which leads to a gimmick match at Extreme Rules.
PREDICTION: Drew McIntyre wins.
Alexa Bliss vs. Eva Marie
We're really going to waste time on this card with this match? Ugh.
PREDICTION: Alexa Bliss wins.
Raw Tag Team Championship Match: AJ Styles and Omos (c) vs. RK-Bro
This HAD to happen. RK-Bro has been far too fun for WWE to drop it before at least giving Randy Orton and Matt Riddle a shot at the tag titles. For my money, I think they should flat out win the belts, too. That's where I'm leaning for my prediction anyway, but it's definitely my preference regardless of what I think is happening. They're the best case scenario to dethrone Styles and Omos as they're credible enough to beat them without it coming across like a step down for the tag team champions.
