WWE NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day Results

Eli Drake is now part of NXT with the ring name LA Knight! This was revealed on the pre-show when he interrupted the broadcast team.

Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament Final: Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez vs. Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart

RESULT: Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: To be honest, I'm underwhelmed. I think all four women are capable of a better match. This felt pretty bland to me. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't anything at all memorable to the point where I'm already forgetting 90% of it while typing this.

NXT North American Championship Match: Johnny Gargano (c) vs. Kushida

RESULT: Johnny Gargano retained the title by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Decent enough match. Since I didn't have a lot of investment in it beyond wanting to see what these two had to offer in the ring together, I got enough of what I was hoping for. If you missed it, I think you didn't really miss anything.

Men's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament Final: Grizzled Young Veterans vs. MSK (Nash Carter and Wes Lee)

RESULT: MSK won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Best match of the night so far, with the best move so far of the night with that Doomsday Device tope suicida maneuver.

NXT Women's Championship Triple Threat Match: Io Shirai (c) vs. Mercedes Martinez vs. Toni Storm

RESULT: Io Shirai retained the title by pinfall over Martinez.
THOUGHTS: Good match. Maybe even better than the one before it. All three had their parts to play and there wasn't a lull at all in this segment.

NXT Championship Match: Finn Balor (c) vs. Pete Dunne

RESULT: Finn Balor retained the title by pinfall
THOUGHTS: To be honest, I don't think it was a good as it could have been. It was still good, of course, but I was expecting a WALTER vs Ilja Dragunov type brawl worthy of a Match of the Year candidate and I don't think it was that.

After the match, The Undisputed ERA came out to help Balor fight off Dunne, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch. However, Cole then superkicked Balor and then Kyle O'Reilly!
