WWE Elimination Chamber 2021 Spoilers

WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Match: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. AJ Styles vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus

Not too too shocked about this one in general happening, but I'm a little surprised Jeff Hardy is in the mix. I'd have thought Braun Strowman would be in there instead, or Keith Lee, or Matt Riddle. I was also surprised about the switch by replacing The Miz with Kofi Kingston. Was that planned all along just to do swerves for the sake of swerves? Or, more likely, did WWE just go with The Miz and then realized over the course of the next few days how it makes no sense why he'd want to fight in the cage match despite being Mr. Money in the Bank, and then decided to pivot?

I really hate to keep saying the same things over and over, but the same things remain true: if Creative would just sit down for 5 minutes and think about the future, so many problems would be avoided.

Anyway. Drew McIntyre retains, unless they want to do some convoluted nonsense of Sheamus winning so that makes their feud more important, or they want to make the awful mistake of having Orton vs. Bray Wyatt not only again at WrestleMania (which I hate) but also for the title, again.

PREDICTION: Drew McIntyre retains the title.

Raw Women's Championship Match: Asuka (c) vs. Lacey Evans

Why is the biggest feud on Raw revolving more around Charlotte Flair than the champion? More and more, I'm thinking WWE is trying to kill time and doesn't want to have Rhea Ripley involved in the title hunt and for whatever reason thinks it's best to go back to doing Asuka against Flair with Flair winning AGAIN at WrestleMania. I don't care about that happening at Mania and would rather it just happen ahead of time. How about you? Do you want all of this to be 2 more months building up to Flair beating Asuka? Or do you want something else to happen at WrestleMania?

Update: Sooooo...Lacey Evans is pregnant....for real....uh...I guess this match isn't happening. If WWE is very, very lame about this, they'll replace her with Peyton Royce and just make it a throwaway contest that they purposely don't mention until during the event or right beforehand, trying to keep it a mystery of who will replace Evans in an attempt to get fans to tune in just to find out what they do only to be disappointed (and that's not a swipe at Royce, but she just has no momentum and absolutely would not by any circumstance win the title). The best case scenario, WWE just skips to the logical next step of what they would have likely done anyway and they have Flair fight Asuka and win the title.

PREDICTION: It depends entirely on what they replace this match with.

United States Championship Triple Threat Match: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Keith Lee vs. Matt Riddle

Hm. Curious why they're going in this direction this early. I figured they'd save Lee against Lashley for WrestleMania. I really just don't know what WWE has in store for these next few months, I guess. Here's hoping there's an actual plan instead of just a scenario where they're doing those matches ahead of time and plan on repeating the formula over and over throughout February, March and April.

I still feel like Lee winning the title makes sense, but I don't think that happens here. Lashley probably retains by use of making Riddle tap out or something.

Update: Now they're acting like Keith Lee might not even be in the match. That obviously changes things. It's hard to predict a match when you don't know if the match is even the match that will happen.

PREDICTION: Bobby Lashley retains.

Universal Championship No. 1 Contender's Elimination Chamber Match: Cesaro vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Kevin Owens vs. King Corbin vs. Jey Uso vs. Sami Zayn

The winner of this match gets an immediate shot against Roman Reigns, which is great. Obviously, with this sort of setup, it has to be a babyface. Even though Cesaro isn't 100% a staunch babyface the way that someone like Owens or Bryan is, I think he's the best fit for this. It saves Bryan vs. Reigns for later down the road if they want to go in that direction for WrestleMania or afterward. Owens has had more than enough matches with Reigns, so there's no point in redoing that again. Definitely rooting for Cesaro here and I think with Bryan's influence, he might actually win it.

PREDICTION: I'm leaning more towards Bryan, but I would really like to see Cesaro win this, if not just for something different.

Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. TBD (winner of the Elimination Chamber match)

No matter who wins, Roman Reigns retains. That's what this is all built around and we all know Reigns isn't dropping that title prior to WrestleMania. I do like the idea that Reigns is being a dick about this and booking himself into a lucky scenario, though. That's great character work.

PREDICTION: Roman Reigns retains the title.

Women's Tag Team Championship Match: Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks

I guess everyone's supposed to just ignore how Naomi and Lana have already been declared No. 1 contenders and how Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez also have title shots and set up an angle with Jax and Baszler for March 3rd...right?

"Well...just...I mean...come on now. Forget about that and don't criticize how we spoiled this outcome. Just watch and forgive us!"

PREDICTION: Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler retain the titles.
