AEW Revolution 2021 Results |
Buy In - Riho and Thunder Rosa vs. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and Maki Itoh
RESULT: Britt Baker and Maki Itoh won by pinfall via Reba hitting Thunder Rosa with a crutch.
THOUGHTS: Decent enough opening match. No complaints. It's a pre-show filler thing to whet everyone's appetites.
AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: The Young Bucks (c) vs. The Inner Circle (MJF and Chris Jericho)
RESULT: The Young Bucks retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Very good match, especially for an opener. They really had me going with some of the near-falls.
Casino Tag Team Royale AEW World Tag Team Championship No. 1
Contender's Match: Bear Country (Bear Boulder and Bear Bronson) vs. The
Dark Order (Alex Reynolds and John Silver) vs. The Dark Order (Evil Uno
and Stu Grayson) vs. The Inner Circle (Santana and Ortiz) vs. The
Butcher and The Blade vs. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen)
vs. Top Flight (Darius Martin and Daunte Martin) vs. Death Triangle (Pac
and Rey Fenix) vs. Varsity Blonds (Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman
Jr.) vs. The Sydal Brothers (Matt Sydal and Mike Sydal) vs. SoCal
Uncensored (Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels) vs. The Natural
Nightmares (Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall) vs. Chaos Project (Luther and
Serpentico) vs. Gunn Club (Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn) vs. The Dark
Order (Alan Angels and Preston Vance) vs. The Pretty Picture (Pretty
Peter Avalon and Cezar Bononi)
RESULT: Death Triangle won by Rey Fenix last eliminating Jungle Boy.
THOUGHTS: Rock solid. Battle royales are fun.
AEW Women's World Championship Match: Hikaru Shida (c) vs. Ryo Mizunami
RESULT: Hikaru Shida retained the title by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Nope. I didn't like it. This was boring and made all that much worse by teasing they might do Shida against Nyla Rose for the 10th time going forward.
Miro and Kip Sabian vs. Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy
RESULT: Miro and Kip Sabian defeated Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy by submission.
THOUGHTS: To be honest, this didn't need to be on the card. This could have been on the most recent Dynamite.
"Hangman" Adam Page vs. "Big Money" Matt Hardy
RESULT: Adam Page won by pinfall.THOUGHTS: Better than the past two matches, but pretty generic. If this was earlier in the card, I think I would have personally enjoyed it more. It was hindered by two more boring matches preceding it.
Face of the Revolution Ladder Match: Cody Rhodes vs. Scorpio Sky vs. Penta El Zero Miedo vs. Lance Archer vs. Max Caster vs. Ethan Page
RESULT: Scorpio Sky won by retrieving the brass ring.
THOUGHTS: Thankfully, this was a step up. I enjoyed this, I'm glad Ethan Page is on the roster now (seemingly) and I'm glad Sky won.
The mystery signing was revealed to be Christian Cage. Ugh. I'm legit annoyed on so many levels. How could WWE let this guy slip out from under their fingers after he and Edge are finally back in action?
Street Fight: Darby Allin and Sting vs. Team Taz (Brian Cage and Ricky Starks)
RESULT: Sting and Darby Allin won by pinfall in a cinematic match.
THOUGHTS: I don't like cinematic matches, but I enjoyed this segment.
AEW World Championship Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match: Kenny Omega (c) vs. Jon Moxley
RESULT: Kenny Omega retained the title by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: This was fun! Thumbs up, for sure.
