WWE Power Rankings Top 10 Superstars This Week: #316 - The WWE Draft Kicks Off

Posted by Callum Wiggins Saturday, October 10, 2020

Welcome to another edition of POWER RANKINGS from Smark Out Moment! Each week, we will break down the current roster and examine who has gone up the WWE hierarchy and who has unfortunately taken a step down the ladder. Factoring in things such as wins and losses, suspensions, injuries, making a name for one's self, being humiliated, and more, who is at the top of the food chain and who needs to make up some ground next week?

Here is the key code for the rankings shorthand when referencing their position in relation to the previous week:

NR = Not included in last week's rankings at all

+ Green = the number of moves up in the rankings compared to last week

- Red = the number of moves down in the rankings compared to last week

Honorable Mentions = five superstars who just barely missed the cut

Power Ranking WWE wrestlers list roster

10. Bray Wyatt [NR]

On a night dominated by the WWE Draft, the main event of SmackDown was actually dedicated to the recent feud between Bray Wyatt and Kevin Owens, with The Fiend coming out on top with a Mandible Claw.

9. Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax [NR]

Just over a week after this match was meant to take place at Clash of Champions, Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax successfully defended their Women's Tag Team Championships against The Riott Squad on Raw.

8. Io Shirai [NR]

The lengthy reign of Io Shirai atop NXT's women's division continued at TakeOver 31. The Genius of the Sky overcame the challenge of longtime rival Candice LeRae to keep hold of her NXT Women's Championship.

7. Finn Balor [NR]

Another champion who maintained their grasp on their gold was Finn Balor, who just about survived an all-out war with Kyle O'Reilly in the main event of TakeOver 31 to extend his reign as NXT Champion.

6. The New Day [NR]

While their future as a trio is now shrouded in doubt due to the results of the WWE Draft, SmackDown was a great reunion for The New Day. Big E won a brutal Falls Count Anywhere Match with Sheamus, and then the returning Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods captured the SmackDown Tag Team Championships from Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura.

5. Damien Priest [+3]

It was a second successful defense of his North American Championship for Damian Priest at NXT TakeOver 31. Priest bested Mr. TakeOver Johnny Gargano in the opening contest to continue his reign.

4. Drew McIntyre [-1]

Building up to his Hell in a Cell clash with Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre fell victim to another RKO on Raw, resulting in Orton pinning the WWE Champion in their Six-Man Tag Team Match, also featuring The Street Profits, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode.

3. The Hurt Business [+1]

Another mixed week for The Hurt Business. On the plus side, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin withstood yet another match with Apollo Crews & Ricochet on Raw. But, later in the night, the entire group was put to the sword by Retribution, under the guidance of their new leader, Ali.

2. Roman Reigns [No Change]

While not in action this week, Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman had a presence on SmackDown, building the intensity to his match with Jey Uso at Hell in a Cell via a backstage promo.

1. Asuka [No Change]

Asuka continues to sit pretty on top of the Power Rankings thanks to her consistent victories. However this week she wasn't directly involved in the victory, as she watched her teammate Mandy Rose pin Lana in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

Kushida - Kushida made sure he seized the opportunity in his first-ever TakeOver match, handily defeating The Velveteen Dream.

Legata del Fantasma - Santos Escobar once again swatted away the challenge of Isaiah Scott at NXT TakeOver 31 to retain his Cruiserweight Championship.

Ali - Ali became the focal point of one of Raw's biggest angles on Monday, announcing his leadership over Retribution and laying waste to The Hurt Business.

Randy Orton - Randy Orton scored a decisive pinfall over Drew McInytre on Raw to conclude their Six-Man Tag Team Match.

Ember Moon - After making her return to NXT at TakeOver 31, Ember Moon built on this with a victory on Wednesday, teaming with Rhea Ripley to beat Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez.
