  • Roman Reigns comes out with Paul Heyman to a chorus of boos. Heyman explains that Reigns pulled him back into wrestling, therefore he did not corrupt the Big Dog. WWE did the same thing to Reigns that they did to Heyman, despite the fact that Reigns over delivered whilst being ill. Fiends and monsters are not born to hold titles, but the biggest star in WWE is. The winner of tonight's Fatal Four Way will be the next sacrifical lamb for Reigns. His name is Paul Heyman, and he serves as special counsel to the tribal chief. Reigns says he is a man of his word as he left Payback as the WWE Universal Champion. The ring is his island, therefore all he needs to do is show up and win.
  • Roman Reigns bumps into Jey Uso backstage, who says he has Reigns' back if he needs it.
  • Heavy Machinery defeated The Miz and John Morrison by pinfall.
  • John Morrison runs off with the Money in the Bank contract.
  • Big E notes it is Xavier Woods' return to SmackDown tonight, in addition to his birthday. Security informs Big E that Woods has arrived, only for him to be attacked by Sheamus. Sheamus slams Big E through the windshield of a car as we go to commercial. As we return, medical personnel attend to Big E whilst Kayla Braxton explains he will be transported to hospital shortly. Sheamus denies setting up an ambush for Big E, however he did grasp for the proverbial brass ring.
  • Bayley and Sasha Banks are interviewed backstage, noting they now know how to beat Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax.
  • Adam Pearce confirms Big E will not compete tonight, however the Fatal Four Way match will still go ahead. Paul Heyman approaches Pearce for a discussion.

  • Medical personnel come out to attend to Sasha Banks in the ring as we cut to commercial. Banks is still being attended to as we return, pushing off the medical personnel as she doesn't want their help. Bayley attacks Banks and injures her leg further using the steel steps, before continuing the assault in the ring. Bayley attempts to Pillmanize Banks' leg, but The Boss manages to kick her off. Bayley hits a stiff knee and a Rose Plant before jumping on the steel chair wrapped around Banks' neck.
  • Sasha Banks is taken to hospital in an ambulance.
  • Sami Zayn comes out to say that he should be addressed as the Intercontinental Champion. Jeff Hardy comes out and says all Zayn needed to do is ask for a title match, however Zayn insists it should be Hardy asking him for a title match. AJ Styles comes to the ring to criticise Zayn and Hardy as he is the uncrowned Intercontinental Champion. Styles takes out Hardy and Zayn, but Zayn stands tall following a Helluva Kick on Hardy.
