WWE Title Change: New Universal Champion Crowned at Payback 2020

Posted by Anthony Mango Sunday, August 30, 2020

The WWE Universal Championship has changed hands as Roman Reigns defeated Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt to win the title at WWE Payback on August 30, 2020.

My immediate reaction: No surprises here outside of how poorly this match was constructed. Once they showed that alliance with Paul Heyman, this became kind of a sure thing. Well, to be honest, it was almost a guarantee even before that, just because it's Roman Reigns. That's the thing that just sealed the deal.

Since this happened, be sure to check out the updated full list of title changes for this year and the list of current champions and my predictions for who will take the belts away from them.
