- The show opens to reveal the WWE Thunderdome, with Vince McMahon welcoming everyone to SmackDown. The Fiend comes out to the ring to intimidate McMahon, only for Braun Strowman to also come down to the ring. McMahon exits as the two men stare each other down, but RETRIBUTION arrive and surround the ring. The Fiend waves goodbye and exits as the lights go out, leaving Strowman alone in the ring to be destroyed by RETRIBUTION. The SmackDown locker room comes out to even the odds. RETRIBUTION retreat whilst Strowman takes out Drew Gulak in frustration as we go to commercial.
- Big E defeated Sheamus by pinfall.
- Jeff Hardy is being tended to in the trainer's room as it appears he was attacked from behind.
- Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura attack Lucha House Party backstage before their match.
- Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Lucha House Party by pinfall to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

- Footage is shown of AJ Styles taking out Jeff Hardy at the beginning of the show. Styles justifies taking out Hardy to Kayla Braxton, highlighting how The Charismatic Enigma has wasted his career. Sasha Banks and Bayley arrive as all three wrestlers gloat over being champions.
- Mandy Rose explains to Kayla Braxton that it has been a difficult week for her. She acknowledges how much she and Sonya Deville have gone through, noting the Deville she was friends with is still there. She wants to get back to how they were and put everything behind them.
- Sasha Banks and Bayley come down to the ring, with Bayley celebrating 315 days of being SmackDown Women's Champion. Corey Graves is in the ring with a microphone and he asks if they are splitting up, which they categorically deny. They will destroy Asuka at SummerSlam to ensure they keep all of the gold. Graves stirs the pot by suggesting Bayley has been doing the heavy lifting for the team, adding Asuka may have her number. Tensions are hinted at between the Women's Tag Team Champions before Naomi comes down to the ring. She suggests facing both Bayley and Banks tonight, whilst Graves suggests a beat the clock challenge. Naomi takes them both out as we go to commercial.

- Naomi defeated Bayley by pinfall.
- Bayley will now face off against Asuka first at SummerSlam. Asuka comes out to taunt the champions. At SummerSlam, she will be The Empress of Every Title as nobody is ready for Asuka. Sasha Banks goes after Asuka and receives a head kick for her troubles, whilst Bayley escapes the ring. She walks past Banks who remains prone on the entrance ramp.
- Jeff Hardy is cleared to compete tonight.
- Sonya Deville refuses to talk to Kayla Braxton. Dana Brooke offers her support to Deville after what went down this week, however she slaps Brooke as we go to commercial.
- Sonya Deville comes out to the entrance ramp and asks what is it that Mandy Rose wants. She is clearly bothered by becoming bald, announcing their match at SummerSlam will be a no DQ match, with the loser forced to leave WWE.
- A recap of the feud between Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman airs.
- Nikki Cross notes that when she spoke to Alexa Bliss this week, she seemed a little different. She feels something terrible is about to happen.
- Jeff Hardy defeated AJ Styles by pinfall to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
- Kayla Braxton congratulates Jeff Hardy in the ring. He says he was previously in a dark place, but he is hopeful that things will get better as we go to commercial.
- AJ Styles is livid backstage and accuses Jeff Hardy of cheating to win.
- Bray Wyatt opens up the Firefly Fun House and says he loves his audience. Love can be a terrible thing though, such as Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman for example. Huskus and Ramblin' Rabbit act out the confrontation between Bliss and Strowman from last week, but Wyatt tells them how they performed is not how it went down. Love can only lead to pain and suffering. The Fiend is built on rage and fuelled by anger, and HE cannot wait to get his hands on Strowman. Strowman attacks Wyatt on set and drags him away as we go to commercial.
- Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt fight backstage, with Strowman slamming Wyatt from a ledge onto the concrete floor. An ambulance arrives and Wyatt is placed onto a stretcher and tied up securely. The ambulance attempts to leave, but the lights go red inside the ambulance as The Fiend steps out. He sticks his tongue out at the camera and laughs as we go off the air.
