CHEAP POP OF THE WEEK:
FEISTY FRIENDS
After much dithering over the future of Zelina Vega's group, I am very pleased to see that Angel Garza and Andrade are not only getting along, but, just as importantly, standing strong. For months, it felt like WWE had no real idea what they were doing with the team, and I truly thought that a split was inevitable.
Thankfully, all the previous bad blood appears to have all but evaporated, and it has been played off as merely their hot-headed Latino tendencies. As such, they were able to play together well enough to secure their spot as the number one contenders for the Raw tag titles.
The match itself was fun too, placing a high emphasis on spots and speed, and it looking like the win could have gone to any one of the teams at any given moment.
I have been an advocate for this team's potential since their inception, and would love to see them become the tag champs at some point soon.
Please do not break them before we get there, WWE.
BONUS POP: Bliss and Bray - No idea what the plan is with Alexa Bliss being taken out by The Fiend on SmackDown, but I am damn sure intrigued to find out. I would be happy to pretend that Sister Abigail had not already revealed to be Bray in drag, and Bliss can turn into the new incarnation of her. Very exciting stuff.
CHEAP HEAT OF THE WEEK:
AN UNINSPIRED CHOICE
AN UNINSPIRED CHOICE
One of the big angles on last week’s Raw was Dolph Ziggler begging Drew McIntyre for another shot at his WWE Championship.
Drew agreed, but with the caveat that he would get to pick the match rules this time around. Fast forward to the next show, and it was clear that creative were already bored by their own choice. Firstly, not only did they quietly drop it being for the championship, which naturally takes away some of the suspense, but, for the second week in a row, they fought under an extreme rules stipulation.
Yes, this time around Drew McIntyre was also allowed to use weapons, but it still seems an uninspired choice when they could have made it nearly anything else. It was clear that they were more interested in the emerging Randy Orton feud, and this was merely a means to an end.
So there you have it, my two choices for the week. What do YOU think are the Cheap Pop and Cheap Heat this week in professional wrestling? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
