Smark Out Moment

On the July 22, 2020 edition of NXT, Keith Lee relinquished the NXT North American Championship title. His rationality was that he doesn't wish to hinder the progress and opportunities of others by not defending that title as much while he focuses on the NXT Championship.

As a result, there will be a series of triple threat matches that lead to a match at the next TakeOver event, which will crown a new champion.

My immediate reaction: This makes sense. They can't sustain a double champion long under any circumstances. At the very least, it's significantly easier to hold a singles and tag team title, but it's pretty much impossible to be a double singles champion (double singles sounds weird). I'm curious who will be the full field of potential options for the next champion, but I know Dominik Dijakovic is one that I would love to see win it.
