Smark Out Moment

Tonight's episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown for July 3, 2020 is coming to you live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. • Michael Cole introduces Matt Riddle and discusses his upset victory over AJ Styles from 2 weeks ago. Riddle explains to Cole how surreal it was to move to SmackDown and celebrate his victory with the faces from SmackDown. Cole asks why Cole wrestles barefoot, with Riddle explaining that he had frostbite in his feet as a child. He nearly lost his feet, but he avoided amputation which means his feet allow him to feel everything around him. This brings out King Corbin who looks pissed. He runs down Riddle and kicks Cole out of the ring, only for Riddle to offer Corbin a fight. Corbin weasels out of a fight by announcing Riddle will instead face John Morrison.
• Matt Riddle defeated John Morrison by pinfall.
• AJ Styles attacks Matt Riddle post match, only for Drew Gulak to come out and attack Styles himself.
• King Corbin explains backstage that he will pull some strings and pull the rug under Riddle's career.
• AJ Styles defeated Drew Gulak by pinfall to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
• Sasha Banks comes out to the ring flanked by Bayley, explaining how they have rolled over everyone on Raw and NXT before returning to SmackDown. Bayley claims The Undertaker called her last week to say how they are defining what it means to be a champion, adding they should have a tribute of their own.
• A tribute promo is played in respect of Bayley and Sasha Banks.
• Bayley starts a chant for herself and Sasha Banks, however she is interrupted by Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. Bliss explains Cross is 325th in line for the throne in England, whilst Bliss drove across Antarctica. Bliss says Bayley and Banks sound ridiculous, with Bliss slapping Bayley to the ground. Banks offers Bliss a match with Bayley which Bliss accepts.
• Bayley defeated Alexa Bliss by disqualification.
• Nikki Cross loses it and takes her frustrations out on Bayley, causing the disqualification finish.
• A promo video airs to build towards the Wyatt Swamp match at Extreme Rules.
• Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Kofi Kingston by pinfall.
• Cesaro brings a table into the ring, only be taken out by Big E before it can be used.
• Next week Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt will face off, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross will face off against Bayley and Sasha Banks, whilst The New Day will defend the SmackDown Tag Team Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro.
• Jeff Hardy comes out for his toast, with Sheamus appearing on the titantron screen to encourage Hardy to take a drink. Hardy explains how sick Sheamus is for using Hardy's well documented drinking issues against him. Hardy agonises over taking a drink before pouring it over the bartender in the ring and taking him out in frustration. Hardy hits a Swanton Bomb on the bartender to close out the show.
