CHEAP POP OF THE WEEK:
RAW RETURNS
WWE's women's divisions is hardly bereft of talent, but it would not surprise me if the loss of Charlotte and Becky Lynch had got bosses worried. It should not, as we have the likes of Asuka, Sasha Banks and Bayley, but they now have even less cause for concern thanks to two Raw returns.
Biance Belair, who has been absent since May, returned as part of a backstage segment in which she was unveiled as Riott's tag team partner against the Iconics. What followed was a reminder of how good she is on the mic, with her promptly shutting up the outspoken Aussies, and then shutting them down in the ring with a quick and clean victory over the pair.
Baszler, meanwhile, showed up later that night to interrupt the 24/7 title scene by taking out several ninjas and spooking Tozawa and R-Truth in the process, and, just like Belair, it did not take her long to remind people of her dominance.
The women's title pictures were already interesting, but these two returns may just offer up an even more enticing future.
CHEAP HEAT OF THE WEEK:
JOBBER MORRISON
JOBBER MORRISON
Ok, maybe the headline is a bit dramatic, but it is fair to say that WWE are squandering John Morrison as of late, and that he is not in a fitting position for someone of his talent.
When WWE wanted someone to get squashed quickly by Braun Strowman, was Morrison really the only option? The primary aim here was getting to the promo to advance the Braun/Bray feud, and anyone could have filled this role here.
While The Miz getting his comeuppance for his brazen attitude is not something that ever truly harms him, the same cannot be said for Morrison. Yes, it is far from a total burial, but he deserves better.
EXTRA HEAT: No Mystery. Oh, WWE. You never learn. When you say that there will be a mystery guest or mystery tag partner, but give us someone very active and on the roster, I cannot but help feel a tad disappointed. I'll let them off as it was Asuka, who is amazing, but they are prone to doing this a little too often for my liking.
So there you have it, my two choices for the week. What do YOU think are the Cheap Pop and Cheap Heat this week in professional wrestling? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
