Smark Out Moment

WWE NXT TakeOver: Portland is scheduled for February 16, 2020 at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. Follow along here for spoilers and information on the event's card, lineup of matches and news regarding the pay-per-view.

The following are my predictions for the 2020 WWE NXT TakeOver: Portland PPV. Check back for NXT TakeOver: Portland results and review coverage here when the time comes.

WWE NXT TakeOver: Portland 2020 Spoilers and Predictions

NXT Championship Match: Adam Cole (c) vs. Tommaso Ciampa

This was a necessity. No other match makes as much sense. I'm very much looking forward to this, as they have a chance to do just as amazing a job as Cole's matches were with Johnny Gargano.

PREDICTION: Adam Cole wins.


Johnny Gargano vs. Finn Balor

They weren't able to do this when they originally planned, but that might be for the better. Now, they have a bit more anticipation built up and more time to work on some ideas. This could very well be a Match of the Year candidate.

PREDICTION: I'm 50/50 on this, but for now, I'll say Finn Balor wins.


NXT Women's Championship Match: Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair won a battle royal on the January 15th edition of NXT to earn this title shot and I'm actually a little surprised about that. I thought it would be Io Shirai and they'd save Belair for later, as I thought she might be the one to take the belt from Ripley down the line. Now, I'm starting to think Belair might move up to the main roster after WrestleMania to be on the same touring schedule as Montez Ford.

In any scenario, it's too early for them to take the belt off Ripley, so she has to win this.

PREDICTION: Rhea Ripley retains.


NXT Tag Team Championship Match: The Undisputed ERA (c) vs. The Broserweights (Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne)

I just can't see Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne winning these titles, no matter what angles I try to view this from. If anything, I think Riddle and Dunne will fight each other at TakeOver: Tampa with Dunne turning heel and attacking Riddle as a weird means to play around with what happened with him before.

PREDICTION: The Undisputed ERA wins.


Street Fight: Dakota Kai vs. Tegan Nox

I figured their match on NXT wasn't a good enough blowoff for this feud, so I'm glad they're doing this. I don't think this will be the best match on the card, but I do think it has potential to be fun, if not just from the character work standpoint. Since Nox won the NXT fight, I'll go with Kai here to even the odds.

PREDICTION: Dakota Kai wins.


NXT North American Championship Match: Keith Lee (c) vs. Dominik Dijakovic

You can't go wrong with this match. They've done it many times and each round was great.

PREDICTION: Keith Lee retains.


NXT Cruiserweight Championship Match: Jordan Devlin (c) vs. ???

I think there's a good chance this title isn't defended on this card. However, we should pretty much know by February 2nd. Maybe Devlin is going to end up fighting Velveteen Dream or something, for all I know.
