WWE NXT TakeOver XXX Results |
(Pre-Show) NXT Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders Match: Legado del Fantasma vs. Breezango vs. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch
THOUGHTS: Wow, I didn't think they'd win. I figured this was Lorcan and Burch, for sure. I like Breezango, too, though, so I'm still okay with it.
Finn Balor vs. Timothy Thatcher
RESULT: Finn Balor won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Solid match. Not amazing or memorable for the long run, but I enjoyed it. I would have preferred Thatcher to win, though, if I'm honest.
NXT North American Championship Ladder Match: Bronson Reed vs.
Cameron Grimes vs. Damian Priest vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Velveteen Dream
RESULT: Damian Priest won the title!
THOUGHTS: This match was awesome. So far, its the highlight, by far. Fun from top to bottom. Some good spots, too—particularly Dream flinging himself off the ladder and top rope.
Pat McAfee vs. Adam Cole
RESULT: Adam Cole won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: How the hell was Pat McAfee that damn good?!
NXT Women's Championship Match: Io Shirai (c) vs. Dakota Kai
RESULT: Io Shirai retained the title by pinfall
THOUGHTS: Another rock solid match. Hard-fought.
Post-match, Raquel Gonzalez tries to attack Io Shirai, but Rhea Ripley stops her.
We then get an advertisement for the return of NXT UK, coming September 17th. Also, Tommaso Ciampa returns this Wednesday.
Damian Priest is going to celebrate his title win with some champagne and two ladies (Brandi Lauren and I'm not sure who the other is) in a hot tub.
NXT Championship Match: Keith Lee (c) vs. Karrion Kross
RESULT: Karrion Kross won the title by pinfall
THOUGHTS: I'm definitely disappointed Lee is no longer champion. I do like Kross from what I've seen so far, and I think he's got a lot of potential, but it's a shame we couldn't have that happen later down the line after Lee had a proper run with the title.
