WWE Extreme Rules 2020 Results |
Kickoff Match: Kevin Owens vs. Murphy
RESULT: Kevin Owens won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Generic match. Pointless to add to the card. They had tons of better and more interesting options they could have gone with, yet they added a match that would be skippable on Raw as it's not an interesting aspect of this feud. I like both guys, but the match served no real purpose and the only highlight was the moonsault Owens did.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship Tables Match: The New Day (c) vs. Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura
RESULT: Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura won the titles!
THOUGHTS: Boring. There wasn't much they could do here.
SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Bayley (c) vs. Nikki Cross
RESULT: Bayley retained the title by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: No need to watch this.
LOL Bray Wyatt hyped up some terrible footage just to play a clip of the karaoke segment. That was a good joke.
They're saying Apollo Crews isn't able to compete tonight because he has a bulging disc from Bobby Lashley's Full Nelson and didn't pass his pre-match physical. MVP says he's the new champion due to forfeit. Nobody came out to do anything. There was no follow-up. Nothing. The match just isn't happening. Oh well, deal with it, viewers. Wow. WWE isn't even trying in some ways.
Eye for an Eye Match: Seth Rollins vs. Rey Mysterio
RESULT: Seth Rollins won.
THOUGHTS: WOW. This event is SO TERRIBLE. This match literally ended with an even worse version of the steel steps thing that we've seen a few times by now?! No fake blood, even?? How the hell is WWE pleased with this garbage?
Raw Women's Championship Match: Asuka (c) vs. Sasha Banks
RESULT: Bayley put on the referee's shirt and counted a pin in favor of Banks. Then, she forced the timekeeper to ring the bell and the segment ended with the commentary team saying that that doesn't count.
THOUGHTS: Okay. I get it. WWE purposely is trolling everyone with the worst event imaginable. It has to be that. They can't possibly think this is good. There's no way. There's absolutely no way.
WWE Championship Match: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
Note: This was an Extreme Rules match, but only with Ziggler's advantage. McIntyre wasn't allowed to get disqualified or counted out or he'd lose the title, but Ziggler could do anything he wanted.
RESULT: Drew McIntyre retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Good match. It could've been great under different circumstances, if they had the ability to actually brawl with weapons and stuff. At least the stipulation made sense.
Wyatt Swamp Fight: Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt
RESULT: The Fiend was the last man standing, in a sense.
THOUGHTS: This was silly nonsense, but the best thing of the night. I'll go into it in more detail on the post-show podcast, for sure.
