WEDNESDAY NIGHT WAR:
AEW DYNAMITE vs. NXT
FACTOR 1: MATCHES
To be honest, neither shows wowed me this week with anything too memorable. A few hours after these are done and I can't tell you many details about any of the matches and even forgot that some of them happened, like Forgotten Sons vs. Alanis and Ruff, or Rose vs. Bates.
WINNER: n/a
FACTOR 2: PROMOS
AEW = I liked Cody's promo, overall. The Dark Order vignettes are interesting, and Jericho's promo was a decent segment. Brandi and Kong, though...woof...
NXT = Dain's quick thing was nothing. The Undisputed ERA's segment was good. Finn Balor's video was blah.
WINNER: AEW
FACTOR 3: STORYLINES
AEW = Nope. Why do you have two people at the same time having a gimmick of "they'll get fined for what they just did" (Jimmy Havoc and Nyla Rose) and THREE dark stables? That's ridiculous. Even if NXT did nothing, I wouldn't give AEW the win this week out of spite for that.
NXT = Continuing Dain/Dunne doesn't really help much, but pushing Keith Lee and setting up a No. 1 contender's match next week that will lead into two title matches for December 18th wins.
WINNER: NXT
FACTOR 4: SCHEDULING / PACING
Every week, I feel like I have the same thing in mind that when I watch NXT, I don't feel like I need to skip anything, but with AEW, I inevitably find myself wanting to cut out 30 minutes.
WINNER: NXT
EXTRA CREDIT BONUS ROUND!!!
No adjustments for AEW.
NXT gains a point for acknowledging Worlds Collide already.
POINT ADJUSTMENTS: AEW (+0 / -0) / NXT (+1 / -0)
THIS WEEK'S WINNER = NXT
That's my pick for the better show of the week, but how do YOU stand?
Which was better, Dynamite or NXT?
