WEDNESDAY NIGHT WAR:
AEW DYNAMITE vs. NXT
FACTOR 1: MATCHES
The best match for AEW, I think, was Pac vs. Trent. All of the NXT matches were good, though, so they definitely win.
WINNER: NXT
FACTOR 2: PROMOS
The opening promo for NXT and the backstage interviews don't match up to the parody of Cody's vignette on AEW. Even though the Brandi Rhodes thing was stupid, the Cody promo was good, too.
WINNER: AEW
FACTOR 3: STORYLINES
AEW = This was basically just reiterating some of the same points to remind people of what will happen at Full Gear.
NXT = I almost feel like WWE is purposely going in an illogical direction for War Games with a group of 5 on 5 declaring their 4 on 4 teams for both matches. That bugs me so much. Despite that irking me, they set up a cruiserweight title contender, but it didn't have a big feel to it, and I find the Dain/Dunne stuff bland.
WINNER: Neither
FACTOR 4: SCHEDULING / PACING
Between the two, I found myself wanting to skip through the AEW segments more. In particular, Dark Order vs. Private Party and the women's tag did nothing for me, and having them be nearly back to back was a mood killer. With NXT, nothing felt off.
WINNER: NXT
EXTRA CREDIT BONUS ROUND!!!
AEW loses a point for their go-home show feeling exactly like what an episode of Raw or SmackDown feels like.
Nothing positive or negative to talk about with NXT.
POINT ADJUSTMENTS: AEW (+0 / -1) / NXT (+0 / -0)
THIS WEEK'S WINNER = NXT
That's my pick for the better show of the week, but how do YOU stand?
Which was better, Dynamite or NXT?
