WEDNESDAY NIGHT WAR:
AEW DYNAMITE vs. NXT
FACTOR 1: MATCHES
AEW = Private Party vs. Lucha Bros was good. I wasn't super into SCU against Dark Order. Kenny Omega vs. Joey Janela was pretty good. Admittedly, I was distracted for Young Bucks vs. Best Friends, so I can't really judge that. Britt Baker vs. Jamie Hayter was meh. Pac vs. Jon Moxley didn't deliver as much to me as it did to other people.
NXT = Easily the best match of the whole two shows, for me, was the Triple Threat for the North American title. The rest of the matches on NXT weren't quite as good as the ones from AEW. Team Kick against Duke and Shafir was the worst of the bunch.
WINNER: NXT
FACTOR 2: PROMOS
NXT didn't really have anything as far as promos (which is a good thing), whereas AEW had the Cody interview segment and brawl, which I dug.
WINNER: AEW
FACTOR 3: STORYLINES
AEW = This didn't really have any story.
NXT = More of the same with a lot of these, except they had a big twist with Finn Balor's heel turn.
WINNER: NXT
FACTOR 4: SCHEDULING / PACING
AEW = I still feel like AEW could cut a minute or so from every match to have a bit of a break.
NXT = While this new NXT is more frenetic than it used to be, I think there are some benefits to that, even if some of it does get lost in the shuffle and they could stand to maybe have a bit more character work, too.
WINNER: Tie
EXTRA CREDIT BONUS ROUND!!!
AEW gains a point for Cody punching out the glass, but they lose a point for referencing WWE again. Stop doing that!
NXT gains a point for switching up Breezango's entrance.
POINT ADJUSTMENTS: AEW (+1 / -1) / NXT (+1 / -0)
THIS WEEK'S WINNER = NXT
That's my pick for the better show of the week, but how do YOU stand?
Which was better, Dynamite or NXT?
