CHEAP POP OF THE WEEK:
DING DONG SHANE'S GONE
Can you believe it? Shane McMahon has been banished from WWE! Of course, nobody knows if his ladder match with Kevin Owens was a true loser leaves town match, or, the more likely option, just a Survivor Series 2014 type firing.
Sure, it was fun to see him when he first resurfaced in 2016, a full decade after he had left the company, but his dominance of the show in recent times made everyone wish that he had stayed away.
His feud with Owens had been on and off for two years now, and Shane's screen presence had gotten to the point where rumors of him winning the WWE championship did not seem inconceivable at all. Thankfully, these whispers were eventually squashed, but his screen time never went away with them.
Until now.
Am I truly happy to see him gone? Yes and no. He will always have a place in the company, and he can be entertaining, but he is certainly best used sparingly.
CHEAP HEAT OF THE WEEK:
KOFIMANIA COMES CRASHING DOWN
KOFIMANIA COMES CRASHING DOWN
Brock Lesnar defeated Kofi Kingston on the premiere of the Fox era SmackDown in a very quickly decisive fashion. In fact, some might say, too quickly.
I get why they wanted Brock to win, and I get that they wanted to show how dominant he is, but I am not sure that it makes sense given how much Kofi has endured and prevailed this past year. Yet, we are now meant to believe that a single move was enough to blindside him? The look on Mark Henry's face summed it up really.
At the end of the day, it is a talking point, and gives them the headlines they want with this new launch, but I still do not see why a competitive match where he almost got the job done could have been granted to him.
So there you have it, my two choices for the week. What do YOU think are the Cheap Pop and Cheap Heat this week in professional wrestling? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
