spoilers WWE SmackDown Live episode results

  • The New Day start the show with a promo, which Dolph Ziggler interrupts. It's just a hype promo for their match on Sunday. Nothing unmissable.
  • Dolph Ziggler defeated Xavier Woods by pinfall
  • Shelton Benjamin and The B-Team are waiting outside Baron Corbin's to put their names in the hat for the special guest referee spot. Matt Hardy comes out of the room to say that SeƱor Benjamin is next.
  • Bayley is on A Moment of Bliss with Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. Promo, of course. Blah blah. Possibly a bit of reality in Bliss saying that everyone made her feel worthless in NXT except Charlotte Flair, including Bayley, despite her being "the nice one" in the locker room. They come to blows, with Alexa
  • Backstage, Zelina Vega is approached by Apollo Crews, who is looking for Andrade. She suggests he's just trying to flirt with her. Andrade attacks Crews. Off on the side, Chad Gable writes down some notes on his clipboard. Oof. Poor scores this time for Apollo, it seems.
  • Heavy Machinery defeated The B-Team by pinfall. After the match, Seth Rollins pops up to beat down Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas with a steel chair. Look at that! Continuity!
  • Shane McMahon arrives (why is he showing up an hour late?) and is approached by Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, who say both Seth Rollins and Kofi Kingston are bad people. McMahon books them in a 2-out-of-3 falls tag team match against Rollins and Kingston later. (Someone is fond of this gimmick this week. We had a 2-out-of-3 falls match last night out of nowhere)
  • Aleister Black is still talking about wanting someone to pick a fight with him and all.
  • Shane McMahon comes out with Elias and Drew McIntyre. Blah blah. The Miz comes out to show footage of Roman Reigns beating them all up from last night. Blah blah some more. Another tag team match is booked with The Miz getting any tag team partner he wants, so long as it happens in the next 10 seconds. R-Truth comes out from under the ring and tries to escape the ringside area before The Miz calls him out and says Awesome Truth is reuniting. Now, it's an elimination match, too.
  • AOP talked to Baron Corbin and are leaving his office. They bump into The IIconics, who think they're impressive. The IIconics then bump into The Kabuki Warriors and they officially announce the upcoming tag match in Tokyo. But instead of being for the titles, if they win that match, they'll then get a title match. (IE, WWE is trying to drag that out another few weeks instead of just putting the belts on Asuka and Kairi Sane in Tokyo)
  • Tag Team Elimination Match: Drew McIntyre and Elias defeated R-Truth and The Miz
  • Ember Moon bumps into Carmella backstage, who is looking for R-Truth and says she also has unfinished business with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, who Moon is looking for. Moon immediately finds them (of course) and they're eating donuts. They make fun of her some more after she says she's been dealing with bullies like them her whole life. A fight ensues, but is broken up by referees.
  • R-Truth is surprised by Drake Maverick (dressed as Carmella). Maverick is able to get a pin on R-Truth and win the 24/7 Championship before hopping in the referee's car and driving off to get married.
  • 2-out-of-3 Falls Tag Team Match: Sami Zayn falls victim to the first pin after eating a Trouble in Paradise from Kofi Kingston. Kevin Owens takes the second fall, from a Seth Rollins stomp. 2-0, Kingston and Rollins win.
