WWE Super ShowDown 2019 Results

Well, it's been about a dozen seconds and we've already gotten the "equivalent or exceed WrestleMania" line. That's going to be fun to hear 100 more times over the next hour. Our pre-show panel is currently Charly Caruso, David Otunga and Beth Phoenix. They're in a closed off set (oh hey, the equivalent/exceed line is now there a second time) and I bet that's how they were able to have the female panelists, as this likely isn't airing in the arena.

Kickoff Match: The Usos vs. The Revival

RESULT: The Usos win by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: So my theory that this would tie into what happens later, by building a story of Shane McMahon, Drew McIntyre and Elias helping The Revival win, that way it means more when Roman Reigns gets help from The Usos later, totally failed. Instead, this was just a pointless extra tag team match. Usos and Revival are good, but this did nothing for me.

Universal Championship Match: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Baron Corbin

RESULT: Seth Rollins retains the title by pinfall with a schoolboy after Corbin argues with referee John Cone
THOUGHTS: Interesting ending with that pin.

Corbin hits Rollins with an End of Days after the match. Brock Lesnar comes out, ready to cash in, but Rollins starts hitting him with a chair after he low-blows him. (This totally means Lesnar is cashing in on Kofi Kingston later, doesn't it? Ugh...)

Intercontinental Championship Match: Finn Balor (c) vs. Andrade

RESULT: Balor retains the title by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: To be honest, I didn't even watch it. I've just been annoyed about the Lesnar situation with what I'm assuming is the pending cash-in on Kofi, and I spent this whole match just being too annoyed to get into what was happening on my screen.

Roman Reigns vs. Shane McMahon

RESULT: Shane McMahon wins by pinfall after a claymore kick from Drew McIntyre
THOUGHTS: Couldn't get into it. No interest in the outcome. No interest in seeing Reigns fight McIntyre at Stomping Grounds. Sorry.

Handicap Match: Lars Sullivan vs. The Lucha House Party

RESULT: Lars Sullivan wins by disqualification and then beats them down after the match
THOUGHTS: Surprise surprise, you didn't need to watch this.

Triple H vs. Randy Orton

RESULT: Randy Orton wins by pinfall
THOUGHTS: The crowd was digging it. I'm glad Orton won. I couldn't get into the match, as I can't get into this event at all after the Lesnar stuff from earlier.

Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Lashley

RESULT: Braun Strowman wins by pinfall
THOUGHTS: Weird that this didn't have much of an audible reaction from the crowd. I'm glad Strowman won. Lashley's entrance was a thumbs up. It's a shame this didn't have a better setup to it, cause this could have been a big deal in a different era.

WWE Championship Match: Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

RESULT: Kofi Kingston retains the title by pinfall
THOUGHTS: I really wish I could have been in a better mood to enjoy this match. Now that Lesnar didn't cash in, I wish I would have had that information so my focus could have been on this. I bet if I watch it back, I'll enjoy it.

After the match, Ziggler challenges Kingston to a steel cage match (which will likely take place at Stomping Grounds)

50-Man Over-the-Top Battle Royal

RESULT: Mansoor wins by last eliminating Elias
THOUGHTS: Saw that one coming. But this was a fun clusterfuck of a mess and I'm okay with Mansoor winning.

The Undertaker vs. Goldberg

RESULT: The Undertaker wins by pinfall
THOUGHTS: That was pretty brutal at the end there, and very sad, but this was better than I thought it was going to be.
