This week, Greg Coleman, Dallas Allsopp, and Robert DeFelice will be giving their thoughts on WWE Money In The Bank 2019!
It's Mr. Monopoly's favorite show of the year, Money In The Bank. Some Superstars want gold, some are looking for revenge, but we're looking for two briefcase winners. Who will they be? Let's discuss…
Question 1: Who do you think will win the Women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match?
ALLSOPP: I can only go for Alexa Bliss who seems to rack up accolade after accolade and would be the best woman to carry the briefcase for many months, lording it over the other women to further highlight just how much of a quality heel she is. Not only do I think she will win but she is the superstar I most want to win as she brings something unique to the product.
There is however the sinking feeling I have that Mandy Rose will win. Vince clearly thinks he can push Mandy who appears to possess the appearance traits he most admires in a female superstar and understandably she could be pushed with the briefcase if she wins. With some tweaking to her character, I feel she could be a serviceable champion, however, I am putting all my eggs in the Bliss basket. My heart says Bliss wins but my head says Mandy may just steal this one.
COLEMAN: Since the women’s winner came from Raw last year, I’m predicting a woman from Smackdown wins this year. With that said it’s between Bayley and Ember Moon for me and flip of the coin I’ll take Bayley. I don’t know if WWE is ready to push Ember yet and Bayley without the tag team is stagnant. Bayley winning and then cashing in on Charlotte or Becky would be great.
DeFELICE: My heart says, Bayley. The often-overlooked NXT horsewoman is ready for her true breakout moment on the main roster. With that being said, I don't think it's her night.
I think it's Mandy Rose’s.
Mandy Rose screams everything the main roster of WWE loves. She's got a great physique and is a fantastic character. Not to mention, she has the budding relationship with Sonya Deville and that storyline progression to carry on. I hope I'm wrong and my heart wins the day over my head.
Question 2: Who do you think will win the Men's Money In The Bank Ladder Match?
DeFELICE: This is a two-man race in my mind. It's got to be either Andrade or Drew McIntyre. Simply put, there's nobody else that needs briefcase right now over either one of these men. I'm going to lean towards Andrade because while Drew McIntyre can certainly do a lot of good with the briefcase, the briefcase will do a lot of good for Andrade and building him towards the eventual cash in.
COLEMAN: My initial pick for this match was Finn Balor when the field didn’t include Sami Zayn. However now that Zayn has been added, I can’t think of a better person to hold the briefcase than him. He’s been top shelf as a heel since his return and the briefcase is tailor-made for a heel. Zayn would do excellent work with teasing cash-ins just to mock the champion and the crowd.
ALLSOPP: The interesting thing for me is there are numerous superstars I want to win this match, and if it was me booking a winner it would be Finn Balor who sorely needs an extended program in the main event scene. However as Intercontinental Champion, it is felt this isn’t necessary and strictly speaking, he doesn’t need the briefcase to be in such a program.
So in terms of a winner, I cannot see past Andrade, a wrestler who has been consistently performing at a high-level week in week out. Zelina Vega is one of the best heat magnets and actually adds to his matches and I could see her interfering in this match to assist Andrade. For me he needs something to finally break through the glass ceiling into the main event scene and winning Money In The Bank could be just what he needs. He has the talent, the look and the mouthpiece that will propel him to the WWE Championship.
Note that Drew McIntyre is the clear dark horse however I feel he doesn’t need the win as much as Andrade does. Drew is intense and his natural presence is that of a star, therefore, I feel he can naturally become WWE Universal Champion on his own terms. I have 95% faith and belief Andrade wins.
Question 3: What are the odds that Becky Lynch walks out of this pay-per-view with both of her title belts still in her possession?
COLEMAN: Extremely High. I believe the Charlotte match has people thinking she will drop the Smackdown title but I can’t imagine WWE being that ass-backward to have Asuka lose the Smackdown title to Charlotte for Charlotte to lose it to Becky just for Becky to lose it to Charlotte. I predict that Becky will make it through both matches clean and if she were to lose a title it would be via cash-in which I don’t believe will happen.
DeFELICE: I don't think it will happen. Carrying on from my earlier post, I think Mandy Rose will become the new Smackdown Women's Champion when she cashes in on Becky Lynch. This moment will come only after Becky just barely scrapes by both Charlotte and Lacey Evans.
Becky can settle into her primary home on Monday nights while continuing to appear on team blue via the new Wild Card Rule.
ALLSOPP: I’m intrigued by the dynamic of Becky vs Lacey Evans as Lacey has mainly had Becky’s number in the build-up to their match. Lacey appears to be high on Vince’s list of future stars and it would only make sense that they validate all of the [rather pointless] appearances she made prior to this feud. Lacey is believable and brings an interesting character to the fore as she is a mix of old school and new school that clicks in a way it shouldn’t. Granted Becky is a much, MUCH better wrestler than Lacey but I feel Lacey needs the win.
I also think Becky needs to lose to Charlotte too so she can become ‘Becky No Belts’. I say this because I think there is money in giving her a redemption storyline where she goes through hell and back to reclaim her beloved belts, and I would have this match culminate in a one on one with Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania. Charlotte is the greatest women’s wrestler of the past 20 years and her legacy will only be enhanced with a win, however, Becky’s legacy is only just starting and the long road to redemption after losing both her belts starts here. The fans love Becky and although they won’t like her losing they will definitely be behind her in her quest to become the very best.
Those are our thoughts on the issue, but where do you stand?
