WWE Monday Night Raw - May 27, 2019 - Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO in Location1
WWE SmackDown - May 28, 2019 – BOK Center in Tulsa, OK in Location2
BATTLE OF THE BRANDS:
RAW vs. SMACKDOWN
FACTOR 1: MATCHES
Raw = What matches? The squash of Shane McMahon beating a jobber not in the company? The women's tag champions losing for no reason other than to prove that they're weak? The Elimination Match that somehow had only one pinfall? STUPID.
SmackDown = Kingston/Owens was already better than anything on Raw.
WINNER: SmackDown
FACTOR 2: PROMOS
Raw = No. You don't do the stupid "fans who aren't fans struggle to ask pre-planned questions" nonsense and get the win.
SmackDown = Nothing was particularly great from Tuesday night, but that still doesn't mean it wasn't better than Raw.
WINNER: SmackDown
FACTOR 3: STORYLINES
Raw = WWE made it a point to dangle the whole Brock Lesnar information AND the United States title situation as the two biggest focal points of this episode, knowing full well that neither would be anything of value, as the US title being vacated was obvious and they basically took an extra week to say "We'll announce next week the thing you already know, which is to wait another week for more info" and the Lesnar thing of "ha, we're not telling you." You don't get points for doing nothing.
SmackDown = Some hints of a future Ember Moon and Mandy Rose feud? Possibly a feud between Lacey Evans and Charlotte Flair? The most minor setup of Heavy Machinery fighting for the tag titles? Okay, that's good enough to win.
WINNER: SmackDown
FACTOR 4: SCHEDULING / PACING
Raw = 50 minutes into Raw and there wasn't a single match.
SmackDown = Better.
WINNER: SmackDown
EXTRA CREDIT BONUS ROUND!!!
Raw loses points for not figuring out literally anything else to do with the 24/7 Championship, having the pointless Memorial Day party, and the people asking the questions.
SmackDown gains a point for Elias winning the 24/7 Championship
POINT ADJUSTMENTS: Raw (+0 / -3) / SmackDown (+1 / -0)
THIS WEEK'S WINNER = SmackDown
That's my pick for the better show of the week, but how do YOU stand?
Which was better, Raw or SmackDown?
