WWE Stomping Grounds 2019 Results

Cruiserweight Championship Triple Threat Match: Tony Nese (c) vs. Akira Tozawa vs. Drew Gulak

RESULT: Drew Gulak wins the title by pinfall (over Tozawa)!
THOUGHTS: Wooo! Very good match and a very good result! Major thumbs up on this one.

Raw Women's Championship Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lacey Evans

RESULT: Becky Lynch retains the title by submission
THOUGHTS: Good match. Better than before.

The New Day (Big E and Xavier Woods) vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn

RESULT: Owens and Zayn win by pinfall
THOUGHTS: For being a throwaway match, this was pretty damn good. Credit to the 4 great competitors in it for taking a segment that had no momentum and turning it into something fun to watch.

United States Championship Match: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Ricochet

RESULT: Ricochet wins the title by pinfall!
THOUGHTS: Can't say I saw that one coming. I thought Joe had this one, for sure. Good match, but admittedly not as great as I was hoping it would be. Still, a win/win scenario, as I'm a big fan of Ricochet, too, so that's neat.

SmackDown Tag Teams Championship Match: Daniel Bryan and Rowan (c) vs. Heavy Machinery

RESULT: Bryan and Rowan retain the titles by pinfall
THOUGHTS: Not a bad match at all. The crowd being pro-Bryan threw things off a bit, but all sides performed pretty damn well. I liked it.

SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Bayley (c) vs. Alexa Bliss

RESULT: Bayley retains the title by pinfall
THOUGHTS: Not a great match, but I'm glad they pushed the story further by having Nikki Cross cost Alexa the title by accident.

Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre

RESULT: Roman Reigns wins by pinfall
THOUGHTS: Didn't do it for me. I couldn't get into it.

WWE Championship Steel Cage Match: Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

RESULT: Kofi Kingston retains the title by escape
THOUGHTS: Very rare to see people escape the cage through the door, and I'm glad we got to see that. The match itself was pretty good, too. It's not super duper memorable, but it was good.

Universal Championship Match: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Baron Corbin

RESULT: Seth Rollins retains the title by pinfall
THOUGHTS: Having Lacey Evans as the special guest referee was a good call. It gave the match a lot more tension and it resulted in a logical course of action, with Becky Lynch making the save and helping even the odds. I liked this quite a bit.
