WWE Hell in a Cell 2019 Results |
Lacey Evans vs. Natalya
RESULT: Natalya won by submission.
THOUGHTS: Zzzzzzzz. Did you like their match 6 days ago that ended with a somewhat botched pin? Did you like any of their 30 matches across Raw and house shows throughout 2019? This was such a pointless kickoff match and a terrible way to start if they were trying to convince people to tune in to this card.
Ali is interviewed by Sarah Schreiber about how he keeps losing. Randy Orton interrupts and Ali challenges him to a match tonight. The writing team gets paid, remember. #workinghard
There's a sign in the crowd that says "boo bees" with a ghost on it. Hilarious.
Raw Women's Championship Hell in a Cell Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Sasha Banks
RESULT: Becky Lynch retained the title by submission
THOUGHTS: FANTASTIC match. I didn't see this outcome happening, either. Very surprised about that, and I enjoyed the hell out of that. It's going on my list of best matches of the year.
Tornado Tag Team Match: Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns vs. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper
RESULT: Bryan and Reigns won by pinfall
THOUGHTS: Can we get an injury status report on that pencil Rowan broke in half? This was good. Not as good as the previous match, but still good.
Reigns goes for a handshake after the match. Bryan would rather them hug it out. They do. Yay.
Ali vs. Randy Orton
RESULT: Orton won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Very cool spot of Ali escaping the RKO and a fun RKO to follow it up. The rest of the match was a bit of a snooze.
Women's Tag Team Championship Match: Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross (c) vs. The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane)
RESULT: The Kabuki Warriors won the titles by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Not bad. Not great. It was what it was. If Bliss and Cross stay on the same brand after the draft, I'll be utterly shocked.
The Viking Raiders and Braun Strowman vs. The O.C.
RESULT: Strowman and The Viking Raiders won by disqualification.
THOUGHTS: Really? How many fucking Viking Raiders versus The OC matches do we need to get? And how many of these matches have to be disqualifications? On a pay-per-view? VERY lame. This did nothing for me, and I like all six superstars.
Backstage, The Street Profits mentioned how there will be a draft showcase tomorrow on Raw. Suddenly, Carmella and R-Truth popped up and Tamina Snuka won the 24/7 Championship from Carmella before clocking Tyler Breeze, who was just there eyeing her up for some reason.
Chad Gable vs. King Baron Corbin
RESULT: Chad Gable won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: It was fine.
Tamina runs out with the 24/7 title. R-Truth goes after her. She uses Funaki as a shield and Carmella manages to blast Tamina with a superkick. R-Truth then pins Tamina to win the title!
SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Bayley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair
RESULT: Flair won the title by submission
THOUGHTS: Underwhelming match.
In a backstage interview, Gable tells Kayla Braxton that beating Corbin tonight proved that he was the bigger man. Corbin then attacked him.
Universal Championship Hell in a Cell Match: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Bray Wyatt
RESULT: Wyatt won by disqualification after Rollins used a sledgehammer and apparently, that can happen in a Hell in a Cell match now.
THOUGHTS: COMPLETE BORE that the fans had every right to boo out of the building. I hope WWE learns a lesson from this. Who am I kidding? They won't.
