SmackDown presents WWE Fastlane 2019 Results

On the pre-show, The IIconics chimed in about the women's tag title match.

EC3 attempted to flirt with Mandy Rose, which got under Sonya Deville's skin. Zelina Vega talked some trash to Carmella about how Andrade is next in line for the United States Championship instead of R-Truth, but it's announced there will be a Fatal 4-Way for the United States Championship involving those two, Samoa Joe (obviously) and Rey Mysterio instead of the planned singles match between Andrade and Mysterio.

AJ Styles spoke about how Kofi Kingston should be getting the title shot tonight instead of Kevin Owens. Styles also referred to the WWE Championship as "the strap" so I'm curious if anything happens from that.

Kofi Kingston was called to the office of The McMahon Family to talk about the WWE Championship match right before the first match of the night.

Kickoff Match: The New Day vs. Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura

RESULT: The New Day wins by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: For a throwaway match with nothing on the line and stuff, this was pretty good. Nothing wrong with just a good contest, right?

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: The Usos (c) vs. The Miz and Shane McMahon

RESULT: The Usos retain the titles by pinfall
THOUGHTS: Pretty good match again. We're off to a good start with Fastlane. Cleveland was totally into it.

After the match, when they're celebrating each other's efforts, Shane McMahon turned heel by attacking The Miz!!

Elias plays to the crowd and makes fun of Cleveland and The Miz.

SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Asuka (c) vs. Mandy Rose

RESULT: Asuka retained the title by pinfall
THOUGHTS: Um...well...it was a match. It wasn't awful, but it was awkward. The ending of this was Mandy slipping on the ring apron after Sonya Deville had messed it up in an attempt to help, so that was done well for what they were trying to do and that's not the awkwardness I'm talking about. The match itself just felt a little off.

After the match, Mandy's mad at Sonya. Maybe EC3 can help console her.

Backstage, The New Day talk to Vince McMahon and convince him to put Kofi Kingston into the WWE title match, making it a Triple Threat.

Kofi comes out for the title match and it changes again. Greg Hamilton is told to announce that instead, there will be a handicap match and the WWE title match will happen later.

Handicap Match: Kofi Kingston vs. The Bar

RESULT: The Bar won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Under most circumstances, I wouldn't like this, but within the context of this build, I'm so for it. This was a good way to mess with the audience and build even more sympathy for Kofi while giving The Bar a victory to help give them more momentum for WrestleMania.

Elias once more pops up, this time to make fun of The New Day.

Raw Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match: The Revival (c) vs. Chad Gable and Bobby Roode vs. Aleister Black and Ricochet

RESULT: The Revival retain the titles by pinfall (Scott Dawson pins Gable)
THOUGHTS: Good match with the smart decisions being made all around with who won, who lost and who avoided looking weak.

After the match, the teams continue to fight and it's Black and Ricochet who stand tall.

United States Championship Fatal 4-Way Match: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade vs. R-Truth

RESULT: Samoa Joe retained the title by submission (taking out Mysterio)
THOUGHTS: Another good match with the right person winning. What's going on tonight? How is Fastlane becoming the best event of the year?!

WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Match: The Boss 'n' Hug Connection (c) vs. Nia Jax and Tamina

RESULT: Sasha Banks and Bayley retained the titles by pinfall (Bayley pinned Jax)
THOUGHTS: Admittedly, not a total train wreck. It wasn't good, but it wasn't long and absolutely dreadful. I guess I'm being nice.

Jax and Tamina destroyed Bayley and Banks after the match. Beth Phoenix, who was ringside, took the fight to them out of frustration for their actions. Sadly, for Phoenix, she fell victim to Tamina and Jax as well until Natalya came out to help Phoenix. Still, Jax and Tamina left standing tall.

WWE Championship Triple Threat Match: Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Kevin Owens vs. Mustafa Ali

RESULT: Daniel Bryan retains the title by pinfall (pinning Ali)
THOUGHTS: Good match that was hindered by the crowd's lack of enthusiasm for a good portion of it out of their own disappointment that it wasn't Kofi Kingston, which of course was manufactured by WWE, so that was a slight misstep.

Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch

RESULT: Becky Lynch wins by disqualification after Ronda Rousey struck her
THOUGHTS: Realistically, this was the only way that this made any sense.

Elias comes out one more time to take a shot at Becky Lynch. Lacey Evans comes out when he's finished and does her walk down the ramp thing she's been doing. While Elias is distracted, Randy Orton randomly hits an RKO out of nowhere and then AJ Styles hits Orton with a Phenomenal Forearm.

The Shield vs. Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, and Drew McIntyre

RESULT: The Shield are victorious by pinfall (Reigns pins Corbin).
THOUGHTS: Fun match to end the night and I'm actually glad there wasn't a heel turn for anybody or anything like that.
