Smark Out Moment

WWE NXT TakeOver: Phoenix 2019 Spoilers and Predictions

NXT Championship Match: Tommaso Ciampa (c) vs. Aleister Black

Confusing set of tapings that already had this happen and seemed to set up Johnny Gargano and Velveteen Dream involved and a possible Fatal 4-Way, but whatever. Ciampa keeps the title. Black goes up to the main roster either at Royal Rumble or around WrestleMania.

PREDICTION: Ciampa retains the title.


NXT Women's Championship Match: Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Bianca Belair

On one hand, I'm very surprised they went in this direction. On another hand, I'm not at all. I would have thought Io Shirai would be first and Belair would be before WrestleMania.

PREDICTION: Baszler retains the title.


North American Championship Match: Ricochet (c) vs. Johnny Gargano

As I had thought we'd get the Fatal 4-Way, I didn't expect Gargano to fight Ricochet. Part of me thinks Gargano takes the belt and defends it against Velveteen Dream at TakeOver: New York, but I don't know. I guess we'll see how the tapings play out on television.

PREDICTION: Ricochet retains the title.


NXT Tag Team Championship Match: The Undisputed ERA (c) vs. War Raiders

Weird that they filmed this match, then never aired it, then gave no time to trying to set it up again, and then randomly just announced it with a quick insert.

PREDICTION: War Raiders win the belts, unless The Undisputed ERA are dropping them before WrestleMania at TakeOver: New York instead.


Matt Riddle vs. Kassius Ohno

Admittedly, I'm disappointed this is just the third match between the two, with no gimmick attached and no win for Ohno that ups the ante by making it a rubber match.

PREDICTION: Matt Riddle wins for the third time.
