CHEAP POP OF THE WEEK:
BILLY GOAT VS. BEAST
BILLY GOAT VS. BEAST
I write this Pop with a large caveat, as I am still unsure how I feel about Daniel Bryan turning heel and winning the title in such a hot-shot fashion, but we will no doubt return to this subject in the near future, for better or for worse.
However, a big positive that does come out of it is the intriguing new setup of Daniel Bryan vs. Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series.
Admittedly, it has next to no build, save a few Paul Heyman comments, but the intriguing nature does more than compensate. This was not a match anyway expected to ever see, and the two couldn’t be more different in style or outlook, but both absolutely have the star power to make it work and give us something entirely new.
Yes, it does hinge a little on whether Brock Lesnar can be bothered, but surely even Brock might hold a modicum of respect for Bryan? At least enough to ensure that this is not a Five x F-5 done and dusted scenario.
Please?
CHEAP HEAT OF THE WEEK:
BECKY BOWS OUT
Bloody hell! A reference to both the busting of Becky Lynch's nose and an exclamation of disbelief that one of the most anticipated Survivor Series matches has been canned.
The cancellation came as a result of a Blue vs. Red invasion, where Becky Lynch fell foul to a wayward blow from Nia Jax that has reportedly broken her nose and given her a concussion.
On a pay-per-view which largely consists of matches with very little build, the Lynch and Rousey match shined above all else.
Thankfully, she was not stripped of the title, but WWE are sometimes wary of pushing ahead once a wrestler gets identified as injury prone. While one can see the sensibilities behind this, sometimes the accident is by no ways a fault of their own.
While I will always ardently support Charlotte over Becky, anyone can see that WWE really do have a hot property with Lynch, and quelling her flames now would be a massive step back for both the Women’s division and WWE as a whole.
Get well soon Becky.
