The kickoff panel consists of Jonathan Coachman, David Otunga and Booker T.
United States Championship Match: Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Rusev
RESULT: Shinsuke Nakamura retains the title by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Decent enough opener. Glad to see both guys perform, even if it was something that WWE put the absolute minimum effort into.
Hulk Hogan opens the show. Noticeably, he doesn't say he's in Saudi Arabia, he says "here at Crown Jewel" and such.
World Cup Tournament Round 1: Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton
RESULT: Rey Mysterio advances by pinfall. Orton beats him down after the match.
THOUGHTS: Kind of a nothing match. It felt like it was just getting started to me.
World Cup Tournament Round 1: Jeff Hardy vs. The Miz
RESULT: The Miz advances by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Better match than what preceded it, but still nothing too special.
World Cup Tournament Round 1: Seth Rollins vs. Bobby Lashley
RESULT: Seth Rollins advances by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Nothing to this at all.
World Cup Tournament Round 1: Kurt Angle vs. Dolph Ziggler
RESULT: Dolph Ziggler advances by pinfall
THOUGHTS: WOW. I didn't see that coming at all. I figured this was a guaranteed victory for Angle. He didn't even win with McIntyre or Corbin's help. VERY shocked about that
SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: The Bar (c) vs. The New Day
RESULT: The Bar retain the titles by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Another pretty generic match.
World Cup Tournament Round 2 (Semifinals): The Miz vs. Rey Mysterio
RESULT: The Miz advances by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Better match than some of the others.
World Cup Tournament Round 2 (Semifinals): Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler
RESULT: Dolph Ziggler advances by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Best match of the tournament so far. Very surprised again that Ziggler won.
WWE Championship Match: AJ Styles (c) vs. Samoa Joe
RESULT: AJ Styles retains the title by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Generic. Ugh. This event is so bland.
Universal Championship Match: Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman
RESULT: Brock Lesnar won.
THOUGHTS: ........I'm livid.
The Miz is "injured" and Shane McMahon replaces him in the finals of the tournament, somehow, for some reason. I'm legitimately thinking about shutting this event off.
World Cup Tournament Round 3 (Finals): Dolph Ziggler vs. Shane McMahon
RESULT: Shane McMahon won the tournament by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: ..........
The Brothers of Destruction vs. D-Generation X
RESULT: D-Generation X win by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: HBK is still HBK, which is great. The match was good. But I don't fucking care. They put the belt on Lesnar and even my favorite of all time facing my second-favorite of all time isn't likely going to save me from wanting to potentially get rid of Smark Out Moment and not dedicate my time to WWE anymore.
