The rules are that each spot must be filled and only one person can be in each spot, so no ties can happen, nor can anyone opt out. No matter how difficult it might be, you have to pick.
This edition will focus on the men and women who qualified for the 2018 Money in the Bank ladder matches.
Since there are eight people in each match, we've had to add ANOTHER new category to the mix to accommodate the ranking structure, which is Lower Midcard. Those people are not quite jobbers, but not quite booked as true midcarders who could be in the running for a title.
For explanations on the other categories, check previous editions.
2018 WOMEN'S MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH PARTICIPANTS
Alexa Bliss |vs| Becky Lynch |vs| Charlotte Flair |vs| Ember Moon |vs| Lana |vs| Naomi |vs| Natalya |vs| Sasha Banks
8) ERASED FROM HISTORY = Lana
Of course, I don't want to erase anybody from this list, but I feel like Lana has contributed the least overall to the wrestling industry. As a manager, she's been fun sometimes. As an attractive woman, that doesn't go away, since CJ Perry would be able to still model and act and so on. Someone has to bite the dust.
7) RELEASED = Ember Moon
At this point, Ember Moon has done the least out of the rest of the names, so if she were to be released, it wouldn't have as much of an impact as the other names. I like her and I think she has a chance to go rather far, but she's the lowest priority to me right now in terms of potential value at the immediate time.
** NOTE: I changed my mind in the podcast and swapped Lana and Ember Moon, but I then changed it back after going through the men's section. You'll see why. **
6) JOBBER = Natalya
Jobber suits Natalya just because she's someone who has had her time and can work with people as a trainer, more than anything else.
5) LOWER MIDCARD = Naomi
Given the five people left, Naomi is the one that I struggle to find a top spot for the most, whereas the others are people I can see being prioritized much easier. This is basically the spot that Naomi was in for years, which blows, as I think she was underutilized then, but that's the nature of this game. When you have a rather strong list of people on this list, the rankings are tough.
4) MIDCARD = Becky Lynch
Isn't this kind of where she currently is?
3) UPPER MIDCARD = Sasha Banks
Again, isn't this kind of where she currently is? Even though she's a main event caliber talent in the women's division, all of her title reigns were pushed aside immediately. That's a bold negative statement to do 4 out of 4 times.
2) MAIN EVENT = Alexa Bliss
She's just way too damn good on the mic and with her character to be pushed lower. I know some will disagree and think that she deserves Upper Midcard or Midcard in order to push Lynch or Banks higher, but in my mind, they haven't done as good of a job carrying feuds as she has.
1) HALL OF FAME = Charlotte Flair
Let's face it. She's the one woman in WWE that is being groomed to headline a Hall of Fame more than anybody else.
2018 MEN'S MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH PARTICIPANTS
Bobby Roode |vs| Braun Strowman |vs| Finn Balor |vs| Kevin Owens |vs| Rusev |vs| Samoa Joe |vs| The Miz |vs| The New Day (?)
8) ERASED FROM HISTORY = Rusev
See here's my logic. I erased Lana from WWE history, originally, so in order to not have Rusev work in WWE and not meet his wife, I have to erase him, too. Then, they can meet up elsewhere. Right? Even though I now reversed it after the podcast and put Ember Moon in that spot, so that kind of calls into question what Lana would do, and, well, then I went ahead and erased Lana again. Yeah, I have no real reasoning for this. This is always the hardest call to make and I simply don't want to erase anybody else except maybe Balor, but he's getting the next spot, so...
7) RELEASED = Finn Balor
...as I said, Balor was in contention to get the erased spot, but what made him edge out Rusev in my mind was his work outside of WWE. If Balor had stayed in NJPW, he would be a huge star, still. If Rusev wasn't in WWE, he wouldn't be anything. By default, Balor has had a bigger career overall than Rusev, so if I'm depriving wrestling fans of one of them, I have to mercy kill Rusev's career instead.
6) JOBBER = The New Day
I hate this!!! But, given the names left, these guys are the most likely to pull off a comedic jobber role and still be entertaining.
5) LOWER MIDCARD = The Miz
Damn it. I hate this, too. My only logic behind not putting someone else in this spot is similar to the situation with The New Day. The Miz is good at being entertaining despite losses.
4) MIDCARD = Bobby Roode
Frankly, the only reason Roode is here is because I believe slightly more in the other three names and this was the only spot left. He needs to turn heel, desperately. I really want to see him get a world title in WWE, but this babyface run isn't going to earn him that.
3) UPPER MIDCARD = Kevin Owens
Dangerously and repetitively underrated, but there are two guys that I don't want to lose the emphasis for. Owens is the type of person that I think thrives as a "prize fighter" type gimmick more so than lingering around in the midcard, but I just can't put him in the main event over the next guy.
2) MAIN EVENT = Braun Strowman
He's too big, too over, and too entertaining to move down in my mind, though he and Owens were really competing for this spot. It's just a narrow victory.
1) HALL OF FAME = Samoa Joe
Factoring in his career outside of WWE and the potential he has in WWE (that they've never capitalized on), Joe is the one person out of this list that I think deserves a Hall of Fame spot the most, outside of The Miz, but since The Miz has that entertainment factor that put him in the Lower Midcard role, that led to my decision here.
WHO WOULD YOU PUT IN WHICH SPOTS?
