- John Cena opens the show to say he wants in on the Fatal 5-Way and he'll do whatever it takes to earn a spot. Shane McMahon comes out to dawdle a bit, and Daniel Bryan comes out to make a match between Cena and AJ Styles in the main event. If Cena wins, he'll be inserted in the title match at Fastlane.
- Baron Corbin defeats Sami Zayn by pinfall. Immediately following the match, Dolph Ziggler hits Corbin with a Zig Zag (after having already attacked Kevin Owens during the match, who was ringside doing commentary)
- Backstage, Zayn and Owens complain about Ziggler's interference. Shane isn't having it.
- Ruby Riott defeats Naomi by pinfall.
- Josh Duhamel approaches Breezango backstage to say they're his fashion icons, but they just do parodies of shows. The Fashion Police say they'll solve his case with Big E (enter The New Day). Big E raps and Breezango are disappointed to find out that Duhamel isn't a real detective and only plays one on TV.
- The New Day cut a promo in the ring about their upcoming tag title match. The Usos come out to retort and say they've been there for nine years and are always sidelined at WrestleMania. The New Day say they've been breaking records for years and that they'll become 5x champions at Fastlane. The Bludgeon Brothers come out and everyone leaves.
- Dolph Ziggler, in a handheld video promo, talks about how he's going to win at Fastlane.
- Renee Young interviews Bobby Roode, who says he wants to be the greatest United States champion of all time and has to test himself against the best like Randy Orton, who he's ranked above in the top ten list.
- Shinsuke Nakamura defeats Aiden English by pinfall
- John Cena defeats AJ Styles by pinfall, making the match at Fastlane a six-pack challenge. Owens and Zayn and Corbin come out to attack Cena and Styles before Ziggler helps even the odds by fighting the heels off, but he then punches Styles and eats an Attitude Adjustment for his efforts.
