UFC 220 Results: Full Fight Card Results and Review for Miocic vs Ngannou and More | Smark Out Moment
UFC 220 took place on January 20, 2018 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. This is a full review of what happened and the results of the bouts that took place at the pay-per-view. Here are the results of UFC 220.

Review of UFC 220 pay-per-view Miocic vs Ngannou

MAIN CARD

HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: Stipe Miocic (c) vs Francis Ngannou (#1)

Ngannou has a lot to work on after this, 50-42 wouldn't necessarily be a harsh score. Miocic showed why he's the champ and why he might be for a long, long time.

RESULT: Stipe Miocic, unanimous decision.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: Daniel Cormier (c) vs Volkan Oezdemir (#2)

Oezdemir did well to get through the first and even looked good, but DC dominated him in the second and showed why he might be (depending on what's happening with Jon Jones) the greatest Light Heavyweight of all time.

RESULT: Daniel Cormier, 2nd round TKO

FEATHERWEIGHT: Calvin Kattar vs Shane Burgos

They split the first two rounds but Kattar ended the third in 32 seconds, great finish!

RESULT: Calvin Kattar, 3rd round TKO

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Gian Villante vs Francimar Barroso

I think I have to agree with the judge who gave it to Barroso, he won the first and third, I'm really surprised both other judges gave it 30-27.

RESULT: Gian Villante, split decision.

BANTAMWEIGHT: Thomas Almeida (#10) vs Rob Font (#14)

Font was dominating then got the TKO halfway through the fight, I'm not sure he could challenge at the top of the division though.

RESULT: Rob Font, 2nd round TKO.

PRELIMINARY CARD

FEATHERWEIGHT: Kyle Bochniak vs Brandon Davis

I could make an argument for either guy to win all three rounds, but ultimately Davis takes the second and Bochniak takes the other two,

RESULT: Kyle Bochniak, unanimous decision.

WELTERWEIGHT: Sabah Homasi vs Abdul Razak Alhassan

He won in the first round again, can we move on from this fight now? It wasn't quite as simple as this and a third could be interesting, but I certainly don't want to see it anytime soon.

RESULT: Abdul Razak Alhassan, 1st round KO.

FLYWEIGHT: Dustin Ortiz (#10) vs Alexandre Pantoja (#11)

First and third rounds there could be some contention for either guy to have won and with Ortiz dominating the second, a rematch could be on the cards. I kind of wish the judges had scored it a draw, but Ortiz almost definitely took the third round.

RESULT: Dustin Ortiz, unanimous decision.

FEATHERWEIGHT: Dan Ige vs Julio Arce

Another fairly simple 30-27.

RESULT: Julio Arce, unanimous decision.

EARLY PRELIMINARY CARD

FEATHERWEIGHT: Matt Bessette vs Enrique Barzola

I'd give this 30-27 to Barzola and I struggle to see how only one of the judges did. Not the best fight in the world.

RESULT: Enrique Barzola, unanimous decision.

LIGHTWEIGHT: Islam Makhachev vs Gleison Tibau

It was 57 seconds long, not much to say.

RESULT: Islam Makhachev, 1st round KO.
