WWE Monday Night Raw
Asuka vs. Alicia Fox
Look, guys, she still wasn't ready for Asuka.
Winner: Asuka
Rating: 2/5
Absolution vs. Bayley, Sasha Banks & Mickie James
In Raw's main event, Paige and Absolution took control of the match early on, teaming up on the faces while Paige kept the referee distracted. Banks briefly fought back, but Paige tagged back into the match to bring things back under her control. Eventually, the faces got a victory via disqualification after Absolution gave up any pretenses of a match and just beat down on Banks together.
Absolution began one of their beatdowns before who else but Nia Jax came out for the save, soon being joined by the rest of the Raw women. However, this was brought to a halt by Stephanie McMahon, who entered the ring with a bombshell announcement: this January, we'll be getting the first-ever women's Royal Rumble match.
This is big. This is really big. WWE has finally reached a point where they have 20-30 women at their disposal, across brands, who can show the world how good women's wrestling is in a match with the prestige, history and stakes of a Royal Rumble. Well done, WWE. Don't you dare screw this up.
Winners: Bayley, Sasha Banks & Mickie James
Rating: 3/5
WWE SmackDown
Charlotte Flair & Naomi vs. Ruby Riott & Sarah Logan
Charlotte took control of the match early on, but Logan fought back, capitalizing with Ruby Riott to seize control of the match. Naomi turned the tide for the faces rapidly, but Riott broke a pin attempt. However, that wouldn't be enough to keep Naomi down, as the former champion took down Sarah Logan with a Rear View, earning herself a spot in the Royal Rumble.
Winner: Charlotte Flair
Rating: 2.5/5
MATCH OF THE WEEK:
Absolution vs. Bayley, Sasha Banks & Mickie James
Absolution vs. Bayley, Sasha Banks & Mickie James
The match was good, but what happened after is what makes this stand out for me. Not only did the women main event Raw to no fanfare (I LOVE that!), they got their own Royal Rumble afterward! What a night!
