Smark Out Moment

Do you have a question that you want to ask the minds over at Smark Out Moment? Our version of the WWE Inbox is the Smark Out Moment Mailbag. Once a month, we set aside some time to answer any of the questions on your mind, whether they be wrestling related, trivia to try to stump us, or just general questions to get to know Tony Mango and the other members of the team better.

Here are your submissions for this month:


Question: "Ducktales, Rocko, and Hey Arnold are coming back in one way or another. What from your childhood do you hope returns in the future?"

Answer: Can I choose "the first 10 seasons of The Simpsons" or does that not count? My real pick would be The Critic.

Question: "What wrestler who languished in obscurity in the past would flourish right now?"

Answer: Although not quite obscure, Adam Bomb would probably be better off today than what his career turned out to be.

Question: "What was your first crush in the entertainment world?"

Answer: Amy Jo Johnson, the Pink Power Ranger, hands down, and she still looks super hot.

Question: "What was the first movie/TV show/music that peaked your sexual curiosity?"

Answer: Maybe Baywatch? I sure as hell didn't ever tune in to that show for the stories, that's for sure. The Man Show was out at a good time in my growth in that regard. Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera were top notch when they first came around, too. Can't forget about Clarissa Explains It All and Hey Dude, the women in the James Bond series, and a few others. 


Question: "When do u think the current brand will end or will it ever end?"

Answer: I can definitely see them wanting to keep the brand split for as long as possible, but also doing things that undermine it like they did before with the Raw Supershow concept and the free trading between people, effectively killing it while still trying to say it exists. At the very least, I'd expect it to last until maybe two years after Vince McMahon fully passes the torch as it might be his baby, but if Triple H and Stephanie like it as well or more, then this could stick around forever for all we know. Another thing that could have a big effect on it is if WWE ever decides to go purely on the WWE Network instead of airing Raw and SmackDown on cable. Then, there's less of a reason to do it.


Question: "Do you agree Jericho's new hair is a sad, greasy mess"

Answer: I've seen worse, even with Jericho in the past, but I wouldn't mind him going back to 07 era hair.

Question: "Is Jeff Jarrett in the Fuck That Guy Club already"

Answer: Sure, why not? Everyone's in the Fuck that Guy Club for at least something.

Question: "Would you rather: a. Suck off Ric Flair or b. Suck off Big Show. (sorry)"

Answer: Good lord, where's the kill switch option?

Question: "Is The Great Khali Giant Gonzales' bastard son"

Answer: At the very least, it's no stranger than Jason Jordan being Kurt Angle's son.


Question: "What one wrestler from The WWF Cartoon Era (1996) that had only rare few appearances but was never given a chance would you bring back 20 years later?"

Answer: Oh man, if it's limited to people who only made a few appearances, I can't really think of anybody who fits the bill. None of the jobbers from that time frame that didn't turn into bigger stars later on are people I'd be interested in seeing nowadays.


Question: "Are there any songs, that aren't wrestlers entrance themes, that make you think of a specific wrestler. The example I can give is Limp Bizkit's "My Way" makes me think of Steve Austin."

Answer: "Easy Lover" by Phil Collins reminds me of Hulk Hogan since it was tied to WrestleMania I. If a song is a blatant copy of something, then that tends to be associated with a wrestler, too, like Christian's old TNA theme mirroring that one Evanescence song that is escaping my mind and I'm too lazy to look up even though I have both songs in my music collection.


Question: "What are your thoughts on TakeOver names? Are you happy with it being the place name or do you prefer it to have an actual title"

Answer: If it were the main roster, it would piss me off, because it's hard to keep track of what event was what as who can distinguish Orlando from San Antonio and whatnot, but for NXT, I like how they tie it into the location. If they're going to use the TakeOver name, "NXT TakeOver Location" makes sense. If it were "NXT TakeOver: Gimmick Name" it wouldn't. That being said, if they wanted to use TakeOver for their live events and switch over to actual pay-per-view names, I'd be okay with that so long as the names they pick don't suck. Don't give me Vengeance and Armageddon, give me newer and cooler things.


Question: "Do you think that anyone would attempt to remake Star Wars in the future? If so, would they remake Episodes 1-3 or 4-6 or all of them?"

Answer: Since they're owned by Disney now, I don't think so. The story group headed by Pablo Hidalgo and Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni and so forth seem to be more interested in expanding the universe and branching out into other stories, filling in gaps and continuing on rather than going back to redo the original six films. Plus, from what I gathered, George Lucas had something in his original contract that stated they couldn't tamper with those films or remake them, but that may not be true.


Question: "Do you like The Street Profits?"

Answer: Surprisingly, I'm a big fan of them. I didn't like Angelo Dawkins at all beforehand and with him alongside Montez Ford, they're now my current favorite tag team on the NXT roster save for The Authors of Pain.

Question: "Who would you put on the NXT Roster, out of the male wrestlers on the Main Roster? I would say Chad Gable, Luke Harper, and Erick Rowan are options. Maybe even Rusev."

Answer: Darren Young, R-Truth, Rhyno, Aiden English, The Ascension, and Sin Cara maybe. Mike Kanellis, definitely.

Question: "Who would you put on the NXT Roster, out of the female wrestlers on the Main Roster? I would say Emma, Dana Brooke, and Lana are options."

Answer: Summer Rae and Alicia Fox come to my mind.

Question: "Time for my Big Brother Questions. First, what's your thoughts on the whole harassment situation towards Jess and Cody in that big fight? Secondly, do you like Josh? And Finally, who would you want to win other than Paul? #Paul #Friendship"

Answer: There's been a harassment thing? Totally unaware of that, as far as I can think of. Cody's mental state as a former marine is intimidating to me because he seems like he could be suffering from PTSD and that's not a healthy environment for someone dealing with those issues. Josh is so childish and immature, but if he's targeting people that I don't like, then I find it funny. If Paul isn't going to win, my next choice would be either Mark or Kevin.

Question: "Do you like the cream or cookie more, of the Oreo? I would choose the cream."

Answer: I use the fork method where you poke the inside of the cream with a fork and use that to dip the Oreo. That way, you can fully dip the cookie in the milk without getting your fingers in there, and then you can eat the whole thing and make less of a mess.

Question: "Have you ever been to an NXT Show?"

Answer: Nope, not a single NXT event yet, but hopefully that will change in the future.

Question: "Do you prefer the sand or the ocean more?"

Answer: Not a beach guy. I hate both haha.

Question: "Do you like Pancakes? Pancakes are my favorite, especially Chocolate Chip."

Answer: Pancakes are amazing. I do tend to go with French toast more often, but pancakes and waffles are also just the shit. My go-to breakfast meal is either French toast or pancakes with syrup (no butter), sausage, home fries or hash browns, two scrambled eggs and some buttered white toast with a glass of orange juice. Now I want some chocolate chip pancakes, too...

Question: "Who are your top 5 favorite cartoon characters. Mine are, not in any order, Spongebob, Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, and Daffy Duck or Homer Simpson."

Answer: I'd probably go with five from The Simpsons. Maybe Homer, Principal Skinner, Moe, Chief Wiggum and...oh wait, Cartman and Randy from South Park are in the discussion for sure, and Fry from Futurama.

Question: "What kind of phone do you have?"

Answer: LG G6. There's a few things I don't like about it, but a few things that are a step up from the LG G4 I previously had.

Question: "Is Alexa Bliss overrated in the ring?"

Answer: I definitely wouldn't rank her the best women's wrestler, but I think she does the job better than most, and she's leaps and bounds above every other woman on both rosters as far as character and promo work.

Question: "Is Nia Jax improving to you?"

Answer: Definitely. She still has a long, long, long way to go, but she's not regressing, so that's good.

Question: "Do you watch America's Got Talent?"

Answer: I did for the first two or three seasons, but I stopped watching it eventually. I got tired of it mostly being musical performances.

Question: "What is your favorite fruit?"

Answer: You'd think mangoes, but actually, it's pineapple by a longshot.

Question: "Is New Japan Pro Wrestling starting to get competitive with WWE? Due to them moving into the USA more, and crowning there first United States Champion, which is Kenny Omega."

Answer: I don't think they're going to pose any actual threat. The only way a company could hurt WWE is if they are mainstream enough that they can be as public of an entity as WWE is and New Japan is still a wrestling-only crowd as far as the United States goes. In Japan, it's a much bigger deal like WWE is, but in America, the only people who would have a clue what it is are wrestling fans who predominantly will flock to WWE no matter what as their primary source.

Question: "Are you still a fan of The Fashion Police? They are still one of my favorite things in WWE."

Answer: They're certainly the most consistently entertaining and refreshing thing week to week, it seems, but I do have to admit that they seem to have run out of some ideas and are getting a little bit stale, so I'd like to see them switch things up a bit and also get more of an in-ring push again.

Question: "Out of these five superstars, who will get another world title run first? Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, or Seth Rollins."

Answer: If there's a Superstar Shake-Up coming, that could change everything, but right now, I'm going to throw Kevin Owens out there as the next one I can see grabbing a world title with Seth Rollins nipping at his heels.

Question: "What is the Authors of Pain's upside, on the Main Roster"

Answer: More money and more exposure for them, another heel tag team on Raw or SmackDown which both could use more heel teams (and more teams in general), and the ability to learn from a wider range of talent. I don't think they're ready, but even if someone is ready doesn't mean WWE will utilize them correctly, as evidenced by The Ascension, so why not give it a shot in a few months?

Question: "Would you do a Superstar Shakeup, after Summerslam"

Answer: 100%. I think having two of those a year could really help WWE when it comes to them writing themselves into corners and not having to repeat matches 4 pay-per-views in a row. They need to think of things ahead of time before moving people, though, and not run into the same issue they did with this last set of trades and Bray Wyatt.

Question: "Do you like Charlotte now, now that she's taking a bit of a back seat on Smackdown Live? Isn't it crazy though"

Answer: I still don't like her, but since I'm not seeing her as often, I don't find her as annoying as she's not being shoved in my face every single week.

Question: "Should Nikki Bella get another title reign."

Answer: Actually, I wouldn't be opposed to it if she were to stick around for at least a few months. There are other fish in the pond if they decided to go with someone else while she was back in action, but if they put the belt on her, I wouldn't think it was a mistake necessarily. Brie on the other hand...

Question: "Why doesn't WWE use Kalisto in the Cruiserweight Division"

Answer: I have no idea but man is that annoying. Kalisto doesn't seem to gain any traction in the midcard even when they gave him two title reigns, so why not put him in that division to help it out and to help him out? Hell, reteam him with Sin Cara if you need to in order to help the tag team division. He's doing nothing as a singles competitor on Raw.

Question: "Is everyone wrong when saying that Sami Zayn was better off on Smackdown? I mean, he lost to freakin Aiden English"

Answer: There was more promise for him to be used correctly in theory, but it looks like that hasn't been fulfilled. Being a bigger fish in a smaller pond hasn't applied to him lately as SmackDown has been so haphazardly booked in 2017 it's really tough to blame it on him and not the writers themselves.


Question: "If you could be any Disney hero or villains kid who would you be? Since I've seen Descendents and Descendents 2 of which this question came from I wouldn't pick my #1 Jafar, but I'll pick Hades"

Answer: Oh man, I have no idea. Hercules, so I'd be a god?

Question: "Have you ever thought of doing a Cutest WWE pets tournament? I think Blue Amrose the dog would take on Larry Stevens Bliss the deaf pig in the final match"

Answer: Never thought of it, and I have no idea what the pets are haha.

Question: "If Daniel Bryan leaves WWE does that mean Total Divas/Belles get canceled?"

Answer: No way, they have too much invested in that. They'll just edit around him. Actually, they might still keep him in the mix. At the very least, they'd focus more on Nikki and Cena.

Question: "Who is the better on air agent WWE's Titus O'Neal or Lucha Undergrounds Famous B?"

Answer: No idea who Famous B is.

Question: "Did you know Brock Lesnar isn't breaking the rules by not defending the title? The 30 day clause says if you are medically unable to compete"

Answer: If that's true, I still hate it hahaha.

Question: "Who do you think WWE values more Charlotte or Alexa Bliss?"

Answer: I still think they put Charlotte in a tier above the rest, but they have to at least know how well Alexa Bliss is nipping at her heels.

Question: "Do you know any status updates on Darren Young, Beauty and The Man Beast, Summer Rae, The Hype Bros and Dolph Zigger? Was Chris Jericho a one off?"

Answer: Jericho was a one-off, Ziggler is back, and the rest, I have no idea.

Question: "What do you think of WWE's main roster tag division? I always look at the roster before mailbag and I totally forgot Slater/Rhyno and The Hype Bros were a team"

Answer: I think they're dropping the ball and their priorities have been too focused elsewhere. They need to turn Gallows and Anderson babyface and they need to switch a few teams around, make some new ones and stop splitting people up.

Question: "What do you think of 1 Adien English and Eric Rowen 2 Luke Harper and Sin Cara teaming on house shows?"

Answer: For house shows, sure, why not. For the main roster, they need to absolutely avoid it.

Question: "Do you think WWE is stalling The Fashion Files because they don't know who did it?"

Answer: 100% guaranteed.

Question: "In Tony's fantasy booking he talked about a 6 man title like Lucha Undergrounds Trios Titles. Would you like WWE to get Trios titles too?"

Answer: Oh I don't want a full-on title dedicated to 6-man teams. I think it should be the same tag team championship we currently have, but that they should have a third belt, preferably without the trojan helmet design.

Question: "Do you think Shinsuke Nakamura will be ok after dropping Cena on his neck and injuring Aries eye? I think he will be ok didn't someone break Cena's nose, Sting's neck and Balor's shoulder and is ok. Seth!"

Answer: Yeah, Nakamura will be fine, unless he does it another time or two too soon.

Question: "On Renee's podcast she thought someone broke into her house and was about to kill her. No worry it was Dean who upon opening the door he mooned her. Then her or her co-host Stacy said nobody moons anymore. What do you think does nobody moon anymore?"

Answer: Cell phones and YouTube and people claiming it's sexual harassment.

Question: "Who do you think pays for the dinner on WWE's 3 way table? If WWE is paying for the 3 way table meals isn't that something they should cut instead of Smacking Talk?"

Answer: They could always do a Dudley Boyz edition where Bubba Ray, D-Von and Spike sit at a normal ringside table with no food.

Question: "Who do you want to see dine on The 3 Way table? I'd like to see The Shield, The Original Wyatt's and I'll never see this The 3 McMahon's in power"

Answer: I absolutely love all three of those suggestions. Another good one would be Undertaker, Kane and Mick Foley (since Paul Bearer isn't around anymore). Maybe Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole. Steve Austin, The Rock and Triple H? How good would Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and Sunny be?!

Question: "Since Smacking Talk is the next big thing what happens to Smack Talk if Renee and Bryan come a knocking?"

Answer: Renee can stay. I have a job for her.

Question: "What do you think about Glow, Glow that's the name woman's wrestling is our game? Did you catch all the superstars appearance? I didn't realize that was Riley, but I pulled up the Wiki before his scene was over so I knew. Do you need to know how to wrestle to be on the show because Renee Young and her co host Stacy said they want to be on Glow? Did you mark out for Carlito's apple? Did you think backstage Ruth and Debbie would Double Turn. I was thinking it. Did Debbie remind you of Charlotte and why she is so much better as a heel? I was thinking that. Do you want to see a season 2?"

Answer: I loved GLOW and I'm really, really happy it's going to get a second season. I actually just got done watching their appearance on the Movie Trivia Schmoedown about an hour before originally answering this question.
