PROMO: Kevin Owens heads to the ring with the United States Championship. He proved at Battleground that if you're pure at heart and a good person, you'll prevail, and now that he is the champion again, he is reinstating the Kevin Owens United States Title Open Challenge and it begins...next week. There's no way he'd defend his title in front of a bunch of hicks in Richmond. AJ Styles comes out. He asks for his rematch, but Owens refuses. Out comes Chris Jericho! He's back and he wants HIS rematch that he never got. Styles says he's the next guy in line for a title shot right now. You know what happens when you try to cut in line in front of Jericho? Styles just made the list! Shane McMahon pops up to announce a Triple Threat match between the three tonight.
MATCH: Shinsuke Nakamura defeats Baron Corbin by pinfall
INTERVIEW: Dasha Fuentes speaks to Naomi about Natalya earning a title shot at Battleground for SummerSlam. Natalya almost immediately interrupts and tells Dasha to leave. (I hate how WWE does interviews so much). Natalya says Naomi disgusts her and she's going to take the title and restore honor back to the women's division. Naomi says Nattie is stuck in the past and the title represents the future. "Keep throwing your shade. At SummerSlam, you're going to be blinded by the glow." Nattie leaves. Carmella pops up to remind Naomi of the looming threat of the Money in the Bank.
MATCH: Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch defeat Lana and Tamina by pinfall
PROMO: Jinder Mahal comes out to gloat about beating Randy Orton. He demands to know his challenger for SummerSlam. Cue John Cena, who puts himself in the hunt, but Daniel Bryan interrupts to say he can't just give himself a title match. Instead, it will be Shinsuke Nakamura vs. John Cena next week to determine who gets a title shot against Jinder Mahal at SummerSlam.
BACKSTAGE: Kevin Owens nervously goes up to Shane McMahon to complain about the upcoming title match. Shane says he doesn't care who the champion is, so long as it's defended on SmackDown Live. Owens says if Shane weren't the commissioner, he wouldn't give a damn about him.
MATCH: Tye Dillinger and Sami Zayn defeat Aiden English and Mike Kanellis by pinfall
The New Day are attacked by The Usos while doing their introduction hype.
INTERVIEW: Renee Young asks Shinsuke Nakamura about his match next week against John Cena. Nakamura says "next week....John Cena...he can't see me...which means I'll see Jinder at SummerSlam."
UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP TRIPLE THREAT MATCH: AJ Styles wins the championship by pinning Chris Jericho. Kevin Owens demands his rematch for next week.
