We have a big match between Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns to see who takes on Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam for the Universal Championship. Also Kurt Angle makes his big announcement.
PROMO (In-Ring): The Lunatic Fringe starts of the show. He has a chair named "Steely Dan", and he says they're both bent out of shape because of The Miz. They took it to him last week, and he invites him and his entourage to the ring to resume it. The Miz doesn't come out, but Seth Rollins does. Seth says that Dean is contradicting himself and seems to be all over the place. He says he appreciates the toughness, but needs to take it down a notch. Dean tells him to butt out, but Seth replies that he is only in it because The Miz dragged him into it. He says that he is going to take the fight to The Miz, but needs to know if Dean will be on his side or in his way. Dean takes offense to Seth calling him "brother", and says that they aren't brothers anymore after what he did. Seth reminds him that was three years ago, and he apologizes to a big pop from the crowd. Seth says he has moved on, and wants to know what its going to take for Dean to the same. Seth acknowledges the chair in his hands, and turns his back and tells Dean to hit him if thats what is going to get it out of his system. Dean thinks about it, and throws the chair out of the ring. The two talk a little more, without mics, and then The Miz comes out with The Miztourage and he mocks the two for talking it out in the ring. He verbally takes it to Dean saying he can't beat him on his own. He sends his cronies to the ring, and now all three of them are covering three sides of the ring all with chairs. The crowd is actually chanting, "Roman" over and over. The beatdown begins with chairs on the former Shield members. The Miz hits a Skull Crushing Finale into a chair on Seth and stands tall in the ring. As he's leaving, he leaves Dean with one more chair shot.

PROMO (Backstage): Charly asks Miz for an interview, but he says no and quickly moves along.
MATCH: Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss
During the match, Nia Jax comes to ringside to help Alexa. She stays at ringside in a manager type role until Sasha Banks comes into even the odds and take Nia out. That distraction gets Bayley to pin Alexa after a Bayley to Belly.
RESULTS: Bayley wins via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: This friendship between Nia and Alexa makes no sense to me. Why would a force like Nia want to be friends with the champ who should be her worst enemy?
Corey Graves gets up and leaves the announce table when Michael Cole starts talking about the ESPY's and WWE's presence there.
*Commercial Break*
PROMO (Backstage): Corey Graves is in Angles office where he is having second thoughts on coming clean later tonight. Corey reassures him its the right move, and in the golden age of social media it needs to come from him and not anybody else. Corey says that he has nothing to be ashamed of, and Kurt thanks him for his invaluable friendship.
PROMO (Backstage): Titus is backstage with Apollo and Akira Tozawa talking about their issues. Apollo got beaten to a pulp by Strowman, and then he pumps up Tozawa in his next fight against Neville. Then Daivari comes in saying that Akira has no honor, and then asks for rematch from 205 Live. Akira accepts.

MATCH: The Brian Kendrick & Drew Gulak vs. Mustafa Ali & Jack Gallagher
RESULTS: Ali & Gallagher win via pinfall. (Ali pins Kendrick)
THOUGHTS: Not bad. Not special. That inverted 450 by Ali is nasty though.

PROMO (In-Ring): Another Enzo promo awaits us. He starts off with "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction." and equates that to his mic skills. He knows what he is capable of, and he knows that will cause some issues. He says that you have stand up for what you believe in, and he just believed in it more than Cass did. He says that he is always getting knocked down, but he is always standing back up. He gets back up every time Cass throws him around, and that he says Enzo writes checks he can't cash. He then plays the video of Big Show taking out Cass from last week. When the going got tough, Cass folded like a lawn chair. He says that he at least would've tried against Big Show, and that Cass is SAWFT. But before he could finish that, Cass comes out to the stage. Cass says that this is all Corey's fault. Cass says all Enzo does is run his mouth, and since he didn't learn his lesson at Great Balls of Fire he will teach him lesson now. Enzo says he can fight, but it isn't going to be him. Funny how he runs just like he said Cass does.. To everyones surprise, Big Show is the opponent. The two fight, and I thought it was going to lead to an actual match. But it seems to be just a brawl. Honestly, the fight was pretty good. Two big dudes using brute strength and power, Cass beats down Show. Then Enzo runs into the ring and eats a boot for his trouble. Good to see Cass go over here.
PROMO (Backstage): Charly reminds Roman of his 0-2 record against Samoa Joe. He says that he is at his best when he has all the pressure. He will beat Joe and go on to beat Lesnar at SummerSlam.
*Commercial Break*
PROMO (Backstage): Dean and Seth are arguing backstage saying how things could've gone better with The Miz and The Miztourage. Kurt comes in and says that next week that they can pick any two members to face next week. Dean says he wants all three, and Seth agrees. So it is a handicapped match.
MATCH: Finn Balor vs. Elias Sampson
RESULTS: Finn Balor wins via DQ after Elias hits him with his guitar.
THOUGHTS: These two have consistently great matches. Is it mostly Finn? That would be my guess, but Sampson is no slouch. Oh, and that guitar shot to Finn was NASTY.
After Finn gets beat down, Wyatt pops up on the big screen. He says that the pain proves that he is a real person, and he likes that. He lives for the look of pain and suffering on people's faces. He wants pain and agony for Finn Balor. Man, a Demon Finn vs. Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam would be something special.
VIDEO PACKAGE: A video package for Samoa Joe plays.
*Commercial Break*
PROMO (Backstage): Kurt is on the phone, and he says he is ready for the announcement. Then Bayley and Sasha come in arguing over who gets the title shot at SummerSlam. They ask who he picks, and he says that the two will have a match next week and the winner faces Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam.
PROMO (Backstage): Charly asks why The Revival attacked The Hardy's. Their shirts say no flips just fists, and no team flips more than The Hardy's. They're here to make their impact.
*Commercial Break*
MATCH: Akira Tozawa (w Titus O'Neil) vs. Daivari
RESULTS: Daivari wins after Titus asks for the match to be stopped.
THOUGHTS: They played the injury angle here. Titus asked for the match to be stopped after Akira suffers an injury that Daivari continued to assault. This whole thing was meh for me as I'm not a big fan of Tozawa.
After the match, Akira and Titus argue over why the match was stopped and Akira is yelling "I never quit!"

PROMO (In-Ring): It's time. Kurt Angle comes clean. Angle apologizes for being a little bit of a distraction the last few weeks, and that he always knew that every action has consequences. Now an action in his past has a serious consequence, and it's time. He says that when he was college he had a girlfriend, and he just found out that she gave birth to a baby boy. This boy was put up for a closed adoption, and he has been raised by two loving parents. He was a three sport athlete, great student, and drafted to play baseball after high school. He goes to college, and still pursues his dream of becoming a WWE Superstar. Now it's time to settle everything in the ring, and his son is Jason Jordan. I've said FOREVER that he is a dark Kurt Angle! Ahhh I love this. Amazing. Kurt is crying in the ring, and the two embrace. This is a monster push alone for Jason Jordan, and better yet.. Jordan is killer in the ring. I was hoping for some sort of Stephanie affair, but I like this too.
*Commercial Break*
MATCH: The Hardy Boyz vs. The Revival
RESULTS: The Revival win via pinfall (Dawson pins Jeff with help by grabbing his tights).
THOUGHTS: This is the perfect time to bring in the Broken Hardy's! Honestly, I don't know if thats true, but I just want to see it. As for this feud, I enjoy both teams a lot. So I'm all for this. I have yet to see a bad Revival match, and this definitely wasn't one! Great stuff.
PROMO (Backstage): Charly asks if Joe has any qualms of going up against Roman. He says that he came within inches of beating Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire, so this is nothing.
VIDEO PACKAGE: A package plays for Norris Peterson. A Special Olympics gold medal powerlifter.
*Commercial Break*
PROMO (Backstage): Titus is talking to Akira about why he stopped the match. He says he knew he wouldn't quit, so he had to do it for him. Daivari was about to cause permanent damage to his shoulder, and he stopped the match. He says he knows he is angry, and he is okay with that. But he can't have him hurt. Tozawa says that he wants a match with Daivari on 205 Live.
Finn Balor and Elias Sampson will have a no DQ match next week.
*Commercial Break*
MATCH: Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe
The winner will go one to face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam for the Universal Championship.
During the match, to no ones surprise, Strowman comes down to the ring for Roman Reigns. Strowman gets involved and takes out Roman and Joe both. Security comes to the ring to basically stand and watch Strowman massacre two people on live television and leave on his own accord.
RESULTS: No decision, maybe? Either way we're seeing a fatal four way at SummerSlam.
THOUGHTS: I'm excited to see what should be a fatal four way on top of the SummerSlam card. All four guys are bonafide believable winners in that scenario. Good stuff.
