Samoa Joe is the new #1 Contender for Brock Lesnar, there are new champions in the building, and much more on the Raw after Extreme Rules.

VIDEO PACKAGE: A video promo airs about the five-way #1 Contender match at Extreme Rules and Samoa Joe's victory.

PROMO (In-Ring): Bray Wyatt kicks off the show making his way to the ring with his usual entrance and to a big pop from the fans. Wyatt promises to punish those who are "guilty" of coming in his way of slaying "The Beast". He names off his challengers from last night, with Roman Reigns being the only name booed. He calls out Roman Reigns personally to the ring. Reign's music hits as a reaction and slowly makes his way to the ring with mixed reactions from the crowd. Wyatt calmly laughs in the face of Roman, which is answered with a push from Reigns. The two men size each other up. Roman floors Wyatt with a hard punch and Wyatt flees to the outside.

MATCH: Bray Wyatt vs Roman Reigns

Wyatt goes for a Sister Abigail early in the match, but Roman counters and knocks Wyatt to the outside of the ring.

*Commercial Break*

Back from the break, Bray is pounding on a floored Reigns. Roman kicks out of a pin attempt. Bray tries to wear him down with a neck hold. Bray counters several moves from Reigns and lands a DDT. Reigns kicks out of another cover. He goes back to wearing down Roman Reigns. After powering out of it, he lands a strike of Bray. Wyatt goes to the top rope, but Roman capitalizes and lands a Samoan Drop. Wyatt kicks out for a two-count. Roman lands three hard clotheslines and drops Bray. Reigns is driven shoulder-first into the corner and rolls to the outside injured, but not before Wyatt lands a running senton on a prone Reigns.

*Commercial Break*

Back from another break, Wyatt is back to wearing down Roman in the middle of the ring. Reigns counters back with a big right hand and is sent out of the ring. The official starts the count, but both men get up to their feet. Roman Reigns goes on a hot streak, but is only able to come up with a two-count. Reigns starts to hype a Superman Punch, but Wyatt counters it only get a two-count again. Bray buries Reigns in the corner and takes him to the top rope, but Roman counters with a powerbomb from the top rope. Wyatt kicks out before the three-count. Roman hypes the Superman Punch again, but Wyatt counters it, only to get hit with it anyway. Bray is able to kick out once more. Reigns goes for a Spear, but Wyatt rolls out of the way. A drive-by from Reigns seems to daze Wyatt, but Bray strikes back as the referee starts the count as Roman just beats the count. Roman counters a Sister Abagail and lands a Superman Punch-Spear combo for the win.

RESULT: Roman Reigns wins via pinfall
THOUGHTS: Great match to start the show. Both men, even after a hard-fought match the night before, gave a heck of a match to open up Raw. Bray won't loss much heat from this loss.

The commentators hype Samoa Joe and Alexa Bliss for later in the show. The MITB Ladder matches are showcased in an advertisement.

*Commercial Break*

PROMO (Backstage): Enzo and Big Cass meet with Charly Caruso backstage. Amore is asked about his recent attacks, but doesn't know who attacked him. He takes a shot at Graves's hair. Cass says he is insulted for being the one behind the attacks and promises to watch his little brother's back. Enzo flirts with Charly to end the segment. Graves brushes off the shot at his hair.

The commentators rewind to the Kendo Stick on a Pole match last night. They show the aftermatch injuries

PROMO (Backstage): Alexa Bliss feels she should get a congratulations from Kurt Angle for her title defense. She says she is moving on from Bayley and wants to celebrate in big fashion with "Alexa Bliss: This is My Life". Angle calls her segment with Bayley last week a joke and brings up the fact that she is defending the title against Nia Jax tonight. Bliss is seriously not pleased.

THOUGHTS: I really do admire WWE from admitting their mistake with that awful "This is Your Life" segment from last week. It was seriously awful.

Dean Ambrose makes his way to the ring.

*Commercial Break*

PROMO (In-Ring):  Elias Samson is the middle of the ring for another performance. He says his song is inspired from a leaf on the highway and asks to hold the applause. The crowd is displeased with the song and performance overall, even though some sing along. Dean Ambrose's music hits to interrupt the concert. Ambrose grabs a mic and then tosses Elias out of the ring and attacks him. He throws him over the barrier and returns to the ring with a mic. Ambrose says he is only here for The Miz and for a rematch right now. Miz appears on the big screen with Maryse. Miz says there will be no rematch and will instead bask in his glory with a celebration. Samson attacks an unfocused Ambrose with a swinging neckbreaker and exits the ring.

THOUGHTS: Samson's character is really good, but he needs more in-ring action and less musical acts for him to get over with the WWE Universe. You can tell what the crowd wants.

Samoa Joe's appearance is once again hyped for next. Kevin Owens vs Shinsuke Nakamura is advertised for SmackDown.

*Commercial Break*

PROMO (Backstage): Ambrose asks Kurt Angle for the location of The Miz. Kurt tries to calm the Lunatic, but says there will be no rematch. Angle tells Dean to take the night off as The Miz has a planned celebration. Ambrose is ordered to take the night off and leave and Ambrose "agrees".

PROMO (In-Ring): Samoa Joe comes to the ring as the commentators show stills from the five-way match from last night. Joe makes it "simple" by stating that he has no fear for Brock Lesnar because he wants Lesnar's schedule of showing up whenever he pleases and put fear into the superstars backstage. He calls out Paul Heyman to leave Lesnar and join him as his manager/errand boy. More than that, Joe just wants the Universal Championship. He vows to be at the Great Balls of Fire PPV and have the title in hand. Paul Heyman walks out to the ramp ladies and gentleman and his name is Paul Heyman. As always, he talks up Brock Lesnar in his absence. Respectfully, Heyman gives Samoa Joe his due credit for winning the five-way. Heyman enforces that he is just an advocate and should not be touched as he enters the ring. Heyman says his client does not fear Joe either and feels that Joe enjoys that. Heyman tells his fears for Joe for when he gets in the ring with Lesnar. Heyman quotes that he wanted Lesnar vs Balor for Great Balls of Fire instead, but tells Joe that he is the worst-case scenario. The two men shake hands but not before Joe takes Heyman aside and is displeased that Lesnar did not show up and threatens to wrap his arm around his throat as a punishment. With fear in his eyes, Heyman is given a message for Lesnar: a Coquina Clutch. Heyman is put to sleep and even four referees struggle to separate them.

THOUGHTS: Samoa Joe has proven he is a powerful force in the ring and on the mic. With Heyman putting Joe over as well as he did, this increases the excitement for Lesnar vs Joe. Anyone who can talk the talk with Paul Heyman is a force not to be taken lightly.

*Commercial Break*

The commentators replay the attack on Paul Heyman from Samoa Joe.

PROMO (Backstage): Kurt reprimands Joe for his actions, but Joe stands behind it. He threatens Angle and asks if he is interfering. Rollins steps in and confronts Joe. Seth talks up that Joe defeated Balor, not him. He calls out Joe for a match tonight and Angle books it by using Joe's own words against him.

*Commercial Break*

The steel cage match for the Tag Team Championship is shown as Sheamus and Cesaro make their way to the ring.

MATCH: Tag Team Champions Sheamus and Cesaro vs Heath Slater and Rhyno

Cesaro distracts Heath Slater as Sheamus attacks and throws him around. Slater kicks out early and Sheamus starts wearing him down. Skater tries to fight back but Sheamus is too much for him. Sheamus and Cesaro double-team Slater for a two-count. Slater catches Sheamus with a heel kick after quick tags from the champs. Cesaro distracts Rhyno as Sheamus lands a Brogue Kick on Slater for the win. Post-match, Sheamus talks up their win against the Hardy Boyz. He calls out their opponents for losing the match they picked the stipulation for.

RESULT: Sheamus and Cesaro win via pinfall
THOUGHTS: It is a shame how far Heath Slater and Rhyno have fallen since their title reign. The champs are catching some heat ahead of their inevitable rematch with the Hardy Boyz.

PROMO (Backstage): TJP finds Neville and gives him kudos for the win. TJP then brings up the title match he feel he has deserved. Neville tells him to have patience, but it just angers his ally. Neville ends up giving in on the title match, if he can win tonight.

*Commercial Break*

MATCH: TJP vs. Mustafa Ali

TJP goes on the offense early. Ali turns the tide for a moment, but a diving senton gives TJP the upper hand again. He starts wearing down Ali, who cannot seem to escape from the hold. He fights out of it and counters TJP and lands a tornado DDT. Ali goes for inverted 450 but TJP counters into a Detonation Kick for the win. Neville interferes with TJP's celebration of his win and tells TJP that he has bad news. TJP shows his frustration and demands they talk to Angle. Neville ambushes TJP from behind and drops his former partner. Neville walks away, but not before granting a title match to TJP on 205 Live.

RESULT: TJP wins via pinfall
THOUGHTS: The match was like every other cruiserweight match as of late. It was short, had some nice spots, but there was a bigger picture. This match was setting up the turn of Neville on TJP and their upcoming title match.

Alexa Bliss vs Nia Jax for the Women's Championship is hyped.

*Commercial Break*

PROMO (Backstage): Goldust cuts a promo against R-Truth, who sat in his director's chair last week. He claims the Golden Age is back.

PROMO (Backstage): Alexa Bliss walks in on Sasha Banks, Dana Brooke and Mickie James. She asks James and Brooke to stay to talk. She asks if they are unhappy that Nia Jax has cut in line for a title shot. She talks up both women and why they should get a title shot. She asks for help in taking out Nia Jax. They turn down her offer and will now be ringside to watch Bliss deal with her Nia Jax problem.

Kurt Angle steps in on commentary and takes Corey Graves to the side to show him something on his phone. Graves return on the air, but ignores the questions of what took place.

Apollo Crews vs Kalisto at Extreme Rules is replayed and shows Titus O'Neil causing Crews to lose and then berating Crews for the loss.

*Commercial Break*

PROMO (Backstage): Kurt Angle is asked about what happened with Corey Graves Angle walks out and states it is a private matter. As Angle leaves, Ambrose sneaks in.

MATCH: Kalisto vs Titus O'Neil

Kalisto tries to move past Titus, but he easily picks up Kalisto. He shows Crews how it is done while in the match. Distracted, Kalisto lands a strike. Tozawa watches backstage as a prospect for the Titus brand.  Kalisto goes for a crossbody, but catches Kalisto mid-air. Kalisto is able to counter a pin and roll up Titus. Apollo Crews enters the ring and mocks Titus for the way he loss. Crews tries to calm his manager, but Titus is heated.

RESULT: Kalisto wins via pinfall
THOUGHTS: Tozawa is a prospect for Titus? Does he want his career to fall even harder into rock bottom? As of right now, anyone Titus manages won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

PROMO (Backstage): The Miz and Maryse walk to the ring. They notice havoc in the back. Cass is beaten down and buried under equipment. Referres  and Enzo come to see what happened. He asks Cass who attacked him and Cass hands him a gold necklace.

*Commercial Break*

PROMO (Backstage): Enzo says his attacker had the same necklace. Enzo tries to convince the refs to let Cass wrestle, but it is declined.

PROMO (In-Ring): Maryse talks up the biggest celebration in WWE history. She introduces the new Intercontinental Champion The Miz. The Miz's music plays and he struts around with his title. There is a flashback to the match between Dean Ambrose and The Miz at Extreme Rules. In the ring, Miz quiets the crowd's jeers. He says he is the only superstar that deserves the IC belt. He states that it is his goal to restore the glory to the belt that only he can do on his comeback tour. He raises a toast to his victory and his wife on a party, dancing bear and all. Maryse says she ordered no bear. Miz stares down the bear and lands a Skull-Crushing Finale on it. He beheads the bear to be Ambrose, but it is just a random guy in the costume. A big present is wheeled down the ramp to the ring. Suspicious, he grabs a chair and stalks the present. He attacks the gift with the chair and destroys it. Instead, it was an expensive grandfather clock from his wife that he ruined. Miz is apologetic and Maryse storms off. Miz calls out Ambrose and blames him for everything and calls him out to the ring. Ambrose, in disguise as a cameraman in the ring, attacks his rival and lands a Dirty Deeds. Ambrose snags the champagne and exits.

THOUGHTS: The acting hurt this segment a little. Other than that, it is awesome (pun intended) to see The Miz bring the IC belt back into the spotlight. His feud with Ambrose/Samson is murky on which way it will go.

Seth Rollins vs Samoa Joe advertised for tonight's main event. Enzo Amore is shown coming alone to the ring for his match. The MITB Ladder matches are advertised.

*Commercial Break*

PROMO (In-Ring): The Bullet Club waits in the ring as Enzo comes out alone. As the realest guy in the room, he is 4G and well-connected. He states his partner is 7 foot tall and Big Show comes out to the displeasure of Anderson and Gallows. Enzo showboats over his large partner and mocks Show's new weight loss and jokes about Show joining the cruiserweight division. Even a pun about pizza and working out does not make the big guy smile. Big Show starts to loosen up and compares him and Enzo to cartoon characters and mocks The Bullet Club.

MATCH:Enzo Amore and Big Show vs The Bullet Club
Enzo and Gallows start off, with Enzo eating a big boot. A quick tag has Anderson isolating Amore in the corner. Amore counters and tags in Show, who plows through both men. He goes for a chokeslam and tags in Amore, who goes top rope. The two land the Bada Boom Shakalaka for the win.

RESULT: Amore and Show win via pinfall
THOUGHTS: The Cass and Enzo attacker angle is interesting, but this match did nothing for it. The Bullet Club are jobbers, which is just wrong.

The Raw Women's Championship match is next. WWE Superstar Profile is on Alexa Bliss.

*Commercial Break*

PROMO (Backstage): backstage- Enzo Amore thanks Big Show for helping him out. Big Cass shows up and calls out Big Show as being a suspect as the attacker. Enzo tries to calm Cass.

PROMO (Backstage): R-Truth mocks Goldust's promo with his own. He references "A Few Good Men" and tells Goldust to shut his mouth as he is coming for him. He references the bible verse from "Pulp Fiction".

PROMO (Backstage):  Alexa Bliss is interviewed backstage. When asked if she regrets giving Jax a title match, she said she regrets being on Raw with women who aren't on her level or have her respect. She storms off.

*Commercial Break*

MATCH: Alexa Bliss vs Nia Jax for Raw Women's Championship

The match starts with Bliss trying to get Nia to back down. Mickie James and Dana Brooke walk to the ring as Bliss evades Jax. Jax grabs the hair of Bliss and slaps Jax and tosses her across the ring in retaliation. Bliss goes for a sleeper hold but is easily tossed off and gets hit with big dropping elbows. Alexa rolls to the outside for a breather, but is stopped by James and Brooke. The three start to brawl, drawing the DQ to the benefit of Bliss. After the match, Brooke and James attack Bliss. Jax moves them aside and attacks the champ herself. The champion retreats as Dana Brooke and Mickie James are destroyed by Jax.

RESULT: Alexa Bliss retains the belt via DQ
THOUGHTS: There was little action to this match, which hurts the reputation of the women's division. James and Brooke's involvement foreshadows a possible 3-on-3 tag match, which is nothing special. We have seen it time and time again.

PROMO (Backstage): Paul Heyman is checked out by the medics. Brock calls Heyman and asks for advice on what to do. Heyman tells his client to put the fear of Lesnar into Joe by showing up to next week's Raw. He states it is time to unleash the beast.

THOUGHTS: Finally, Brock Lesnar is returning to live TV, which was a given since he is scheduled to defend the belt at Great Balls of Fire. It will just be nice to see him again.

Seth Rollins vs Samoa Joe main event is next.

*Commercial Break*

Brock Lesnar's return is confirmed for next week.

MATCH: Samoa Joe vs Seth Rollins

Joe starts the match by striking Rollins repeatedly. Rollins fires back and brawls, dropping Joe to the ground. Joe goes for a powerbomb, which Rollins counters with a huricanrana. Samoa Joe lands a headbutt to floor Rollins. Joe dumps him out of the ring. Back in the ring, Rollins is dropped hard by an elbow. Joe is thrown out of the ring and Rollins goes for a suicide dive, but gets his leg taken out instead. Joe begins to slaughter his opponent outside the ring. Joe continues to strike down Seth. He lands a hand slap on the chest in the corner. Joe throws more rapid-fire strikes. Rollins fights back and back Joe into a corner. He goes for a top rope move, but Joe shakes him off the ropes. He then lands a big kick to the head to Rollins, who is on the top rope, as we cut to commercial.

*Commercial Break*

After the break, Joe is kneeling over a beaten Rollins. During the break, Joe landed a huge suplex. Rollins lands a big boot to Joe, but Joe fires back by dumping Rollins onto his neck. In the middle of the ring, Joe tries to wear down his rival with a chin hold. Rollins fights back, but is hit with an atomic drop and a running senton. Joe begins to work on Seth's shoulder. He fights out of it with hard right hands and a spin kick. With lightning speed, Joe lands a powerslam counter. Joe lands more hard slaps to the chest of Rollins in the corner. The two trade hard blows, ending with them both on their backs. Joe rolls out and Rollins finally lands a suicide dive to turn the tide. In the ring, Seth lands a slingblade followed by another suicide dive. A big boot and blockbuster has Joe retreating. A third suicide dive has Joe woozy. A top rope springboard into a clothesline lands a two-count for Rollins. Rollins counters a Coquian Clutch into a Falcon's Arrow for another two-count. Seth counters for a two-count roll up. On the top rope, Rollins prepares for a high-flying move. Bray Wyatt's music plays, but no Wyatt. Distracted, Joe lands the Coquian Clutch and Rollins refuses to tap, passing out.

RESULT: Samoa Joe wins via KO/Submission
THOUGHTS: The same goes for this match as for the Wyatt/Reigns match. Both men went through a grueling match last night and still were able to put together a good match tonight. Samoa Joe is looking more and more dangerous and is looking like he could put some fear into Lesnar, who returns next week.
