Dean Ambrose vs. The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship headlines WWE's return back to the United States.
PROMO (In-Ring): GM Kurt Angle has returned from his absence last week. He announces that Strowman has had surgery on his shattered elbow and could be out for up to 6 months. At Extreme Rules there will be an extreme rules fatal five way match to determine who will face Lesnar for the Universal Championship. The members in the match are: Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Bray Wyatt, and Roman Reigns. As Kurt is finishing things up, Roman comes out to join him. Roman says that he should be the automatic number on contender after beating Undertaker, and putting Strowman out for months and he is the only real threat to Lesnar. That brings out Finn Balor. Finn repeats what he's said since his return, that he never dropped the belt and he is first in line. Samoa Joe joins the crew next, and he says basically the same thing as Roman that he is the only true threat to The Beast. After that is Bray Wyatt who is then followed by Seth and they all kind of say the same stuff. Seth says the talking is done, and its time to fight and targets Joe. Then, of course, everyone fights everyone.

PROMO (Backstage): Kurt sets up matches for later. Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns vs. Finn Balor.
MATCH: Jeff Hardy (w Matt Hardy) vs. Sheamus (w Cesaro)
RESULTS: Jeff Hardy wins via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: This was really clunky and not all that great. Amazing to see the crowd behind Jeff so much still though.

MATCH: Sasha Banks vs. Alicia Fox (w Noam Dar)
RESULTS: Alicia Fox wins via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Wow.. Alicia Fox just beat Sasha Banks. Who we thought would be the heel competitor for the title by now.

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Dean Ambrose (c) vs. The Miz (w Maryse)
RESULTS: The Miz wins via DQ. (No title change)
THOUGHTS: So the DQ came after The Miz attempted a low blow but was caught by Dean. Dean, being angry, hit him with his own low blow but the ref was there to see it. A cop out finish to what was a really good match.
PROMO (Backstage): Charly asks Finn about his match with Roman, Finn says that he will be the new big dog.

PROMO (In-Ring): Alexa Bliss gets some cheap heat by dissing Newark and gloats in her recent achievements like becoming the first woman to hold both brands Women's Championships. Then Bayley comes out. Bayley says that she wants the title, and Alexa calls her a little girl and to leave the winning to the women. Bayley attacks, but Alexa gains the upper hand grabs a kendo stick and uses it on the back of Bayley's head.

PROMO (Backstage): The Miz complains to Kurt about getting another title match after how the one ended tonight. Kurt says he'll get one at Extreme Rules, and Miz says it should be one where the title can change hands on a DQ and Kurt agrees. Then Elias Sampson comes in and plays more guitar.
MATCH: Jack Gallagher & Austin Aries vs. Neville & TJ Perkins
RESULTS: TJP & Neville win via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Not a bad match, but nothing overly special.

PROMO (Backstage): Kurt Angle makes a "Kendo Stick on a pole match" for Alexa Bliss & Bayley at Extreme Rules.
PROMO (Backstage): Goldust & R-Truth are talking about their failure in the tag team turmoil match and R-Truth apologizes for his screw up. Goldust says that they're a team, and no matter what they will claw their way back into the title picture.

MATCH: Finn Balor vs. Roman Reigns
RESULTS: Roman wins via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Man.. What a match. The selling of Finn Balor may actually be second to none. Having him lose to a taped up Roman irks me a bit, but it was a fantastic match.
PROMO (Backstage): Bray Wyatt cuts a promo on Lesnar, and reaffirms us that this is his world. He will end The Beast, and become Universal Champion. But tonight he is focused on the one who claims to be "the man".

As The GoldenTruth were prepping for their match in the ring, Goldust attacks R-Truth. Heel turn city for Goldust, and I love it.

MATCH: Big Cass (w Enzo Amore) vs. Titus O'Niel (w Apollo Crews)
RESULTS: Big Cass wins via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Not the best segment, but Titus is decently entertaining.

MATCH: Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt
Match ends in DQ after Samoa Joe attacks Rollins. Bray and Joe work together to tear down Rollins, and then Bray Sister Abigail's both men.
RESULTS: Seth Rollins wins via DQ.
THOUGHTS: Not as good as Roman and Finn, but decent nonetheless. The crowd, however, was completely dead. If there was ever a time for Bray to have that five star match in singles competition it was right here, but it didn't happen. He's been an under performer so far, but he has enough career in front of him to change that.
