WWE NXT TakeOver: Chicago 2017 Results

Charly Caruso takes the lead for the pre-show, which also features Nigel McGuinness and Peter Rosenberg. Ember Moon says she could be out of action for six months. Nothing else of note transpires.

Roderick Strong vs. Eric Young

RESULTS: Roderick Strong wins via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Not bad. I like how Strong had a lot of energy throughout and it wasn't just a typical SAnitY beat down.

United Kingdom Championship Match: Tyler Bate (c) vs. Pete Dunne

RESULT: Pete Dunne via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Very good match!

NXT Women's Championship Match: Asuka (c) vs. Ruby Riot vs. Nikki Cross

RESULT: Asuka retains via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Decent match for something that was an inevitability and was missing the secondary star originally intended to be focused upon.

NXT Championship Match: Bobby Roode (c) vs. Hideo Itami

RESULT: Bobby Roode retains via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Very solid match. I didn't think Itami had it in him after spending the majority of his career out with an injury.

NXT Tag Team Championship Ladder Match: The Authors of Pain (c) vs. #DIY

RESULT: The Authors of Pain retain the titles.
THOUGHTS: Hell of a match, as expected, considering their track record. The tag team division in NXT has been just amazing for months on end.

Gargano and Ciampa receive their applause and respect from the crowd, but just as the show appears to be ending, Ciampa attacks Gargano and turns heel!
