JINDER SURPRISE
The wrestling landscape got a bit of a shock this week when Jinder Mahal became the new No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship.
Some hate it with a passion, but as weird an outcome as it is, many are applauding WWE's use of a curve ball. Nobody saw this coming, and that is what makes it a bit different and exciting. Normally, angles like this are leaked months in advance, which often leaves little room for surprise.
Also, can we take The Bollywood Boyz assist in his match as a sign of a new faction? The idea of some cruiserweight integration with the main roster is another idea that I can get behind and could lead to some interesting opportunities too.
Ok, WWE are likely going down the predictable heel "because they aren't from around here" route, but everything else about this shakes up the scenery as we know it.
Jinder may very well be swatted down and never enter the main title picture ever again, but none of us can be sure, and that is where WWE works best. If we, the fans, cannot even determine the predetermined
SHAKY GROUNDS
I think that The Miz is one of the finest intercontinental champions of all time, and I think that Dean Ambrose is incredibly entertaining, but did they really just move them over to Raw to pick up a feud barely two months gone over the very same title? I am sure that they will deliver, but was the Superstar Shake-Up not meant to freshen things up and give people new opponents and opportunities?
Meanwhile, Kalisto was put in a bin, and Apollo Crews was teased to be forming a tag team with Titus O'Neil.
Good to see that Raw is making the most of its recent transfers then....
So there you have it, my two choices for the week. What do YOU think are the Cheap Pop and Cheap Heat this week in professional wrestling? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
