My immediate reaction: While I'm all for giving Chris Jericho another championship, I'm hesitant to get excited about this. Having Roman Reigns drop the title makes me suspicious he could defeat Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble and become the new Universal champion, and I don't want that to happen. I was perfectly fine with Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns for the United States Championship while Chris Jericho would go on to face Kevin Owens for the Universal title. Now, I'm not so sure that will happen, and it's making me nervous. I don't want to be short-sighted enough to be happy that Jericho is the champion only to find out that by doing so, we're sacrificing WrestleMania and making one of the main events Strowman vs. Reigns for the Universal title while also cheapening Jericho vs. Owens by making it a midcard match rather than one of the top tier fights.
