PROMO (In-Ring): The Ambrose Asylum returns to WWE SmackDown Live! Dean Ambrose declares his entry into the 2017 Royal Rumble Match. Dean then welcomes his first guest, who is accompanied by Maryse, The Miz. The Miz then starts to mourn the death of the Intercontinental Championship once more and declares his entry into the 2017 Royal Rumble Match. The Miz then asks Dean to hand back the Intercontinental Championship. Dean then gives The Miz his very own "Miz Participation Award." The Miz then attacks Dean Ambrose, holds Dean up for Maryse to give him a slap. Dean counters, putting The Miz in front of the slap and hits Dirty Deeds! Dean hands Maryse the Participation Award and walks out to his music.

VIDEO PACKAGE: Recap of the Natalya/Nikki Bella rivalry, including the revelation that Natalya attacked her backstage at Survivor Series, and telling Nikki that once her beauty was gone, John Cena would leave her and she would die alone. Then before the break, a live shot of Natalya attacking Nikki Bella, and Natalya said "See you out there Nikki," setting up their match after the commercial break.

MATCH: Nikki Bella vs. Natalya Match begins with a brawl before the bell! Nikki drags Natalya out to the ramp, and they go back and forth on the ramp. Natayla throws Nikki Bella into the ring, and they brawl inside the ring. Natalya then tries to escape over the barricade, and Nikki grabs her to the mat. Nikki gets Natalya back in the ring, and extra referees come in to break up the fight. Both take cheap shots at each other, and Natalya puts Nikki in the SharpShooter. Match never begins.

RESULT: No Contest
THOUGHTS: Great storytelling! I am seriously enjoying this feud with the pair!

PROMO (Backstage): Dolph Ziggler is shown a clip of him attacking Kalisto in the ring, and then Apollo Crews in the locker room. He is then asked to give an explanation for his actions. He looks past the camera, looks down, and then walks out of the shot. It is announced that he will have a match with the former U.S. Champion Kalisto later on tonight.

MATCH: Dolph Ziggler vs. Kalisto: Kalisto comes out strong, sending Dolph out of the ring with a Hurricarana. Dolph then takes control with hits to the knees, and with a swinging neckbreaker. Kalisto returns with a couple of kicks to the head, and as he is looking for a springboard dive, Ziggler takes him out and sends him to the mat outside the ring.

MATCH: Dolph Ziggler vs. Kalisto (continued): We return from break with Ziggler locking up Kalisto in some chain wrestling. Kalisto and Ziggler then go back and forth with counters. Ziggler then hits Kalisto with a missle drop kick, and lays on Kalisto for a lazy win. Kalisto surprises Ziggler with a crucifix pin, and picks up the victory. After the match, Dolph attacks Kalisto solidifying his heel turn. After attacking Kalisto with a chair, Apollo Crews comes out and attacks Dolph. Dolph then attacks Apollo with the chair, seething with rage. Chair Shot to Crews again. Chair Shot to Kalisto. Exit Ziggler.

RESULT: Kalisto wins, but Dolph attacks Kalisto with a chair after the match.
THOUGHTS: Dolph is a natural heel, and it really shows. I sincerely hope this is the start of a new Dolph Ziggler heel run that we have all been waiting for!

PROMO (Backstage): American Alpha cuts a great promo about how as long as they are the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, they are the Alphas. American Alpha is ready to go to war, and are positive they will walk out still Tag Team Champions.

*Commercial Break*

PROMO (Backstage): Backstage, Renee Young interviews John Cena about Baron Corbin putting him in his place. John Cena asks who the hell does Baron Corbin thinks he is. He then moves on to AJ Styles calling him a "Has Been." Cena then says he realizes he agrees with him. It's been a LONG TIME that John Cena has had to fight for what he believes in and for what he wants. Cena says that he's going to pick the biggest person and knock his teeth in. THIS PROMO WAS ABSOLUTE GOLD!

TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: The Wyatt Family vs. American Alpha: Teams are introduced, and we are shown how American Alpha wons the belts 2 weeks ago.

*Commercial Break*

TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: The Wyatt Family vs. American Alpha (continued): Bell rings as we return from break. Bray Wyatt and Chad Gable start the match with Wyatt taking control right away. Blind tag is made to Jason Jordan and surprises Wyatt. Wyatt then tags Randy Orton in. Orton takes control of Jason Jordan, but a blind tag is made again by Gable, and they take control of Orton. Orton then hits Gable with a couple of stiff European Uppercuts. Tag is then made to Wyatt. Wyatt and Gable trade control with lots of 2-count pins. Orton tags in and takes control of Gable. Orton throws Gable on the barricade outside the ring a few times. Tag to Wyatt, and tag to Jordan. Orton tries to interfere, and Jordan takes down both. Orton and Wyatt then ground-and-pound Jason Jordan, with many 2-count pins. Jordan, with one last burst, hits Wyatt with a clothesline, and makes the tag to Chad Gable. Tag is made to Orton. Luke Harper causes a distraction and Randy hits Gable with a thumb to the eye. Orton sets up for the RKO, but Harper distracts Orton, forcing a roll-up by Chad Gable. After the match, Randy and Harper get into it, and Luke Harper accidentally hits Bray Wyatt with a Superkick.

RESULT: American Alpha retain with a roll-up from Chad Gable on Randy Orton
THOUGHTS: The Wyatt Family is starting to implode, which will inevitably lead to the break-up of the family. Hoping for a long title reign from American Alpha.

PROMO (Backstage): Becky Lynch and Daniel Bryan are going over footage of last week for La Luchadora. Alexa Bliss then interrupts the conversation. Alexa thinks Becky doesn't deserve another title match. Daniel then decides that next week, she's going to defend the SmackDown Women's Championship against Becky Lynch. He also makes the match next week a Steel Cage Match! (Spencer really likes a Steel Cage Match!)

MATCH: Carmella w/ James Ellsworth vs. CJ Lunde: Bell rings, and after a few minor spots, Ellsworth tries to interfere. Carmella then puts the jobber into the Code of Silence.

RESULT: Carmella wins by Submission
THOUGHTS: I just....I don't even....Ellsworth and Carmella are offically dead...The "Let's Go Jobber" chants should be a hint to that...

*Commercial Break*

PROMO (Backstage): Baron Corbin says he doesn't care who John Cena is, but he alters outcomes. Tonight, he makes John Cena a liar. It's no longer his glory days, it's his "End of Days." AJ Styles appears and tells Corbin he'll be on commentary.

*Commercial Break*

MAIN EVENT MATCH: Baron Corbin vs. John Cena: Corbin starts off strong, giving Cena punches and knees to the midsection. Corbin then lands on Cena's head, and gives Cena punches to the head. Corbin then throws Cena to the outside. Cena then takes control on the ramp, and Corbin runs into the stairs. Cena jumps back into the ring. Cena tries fighting back and Corbin hits Deep 6 on Cena. 2-Count. Cena comes back with a Tornado DDT. Both men are laid out on the mat spent. Cena then goes for the 5-Knuckle Shuffle, and sets up for the AA.

RESULT: Cena wins with the Attitude Adjustment
THOUGHTS: I'm very excited for this version of A.J. and Cena Match!!! Royal Rumble is looking great! Smackdown has another great show today!!!
