Ellsworth will get his WWE Championship opportunity, and Apollo Crews challenges The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship. Dolph Ziggler is the new #1 Contender to AJ Styles WWE Championship, so they'll get some face time I'm sure. And Dean Ambrose will go one on one with Luke Harper who will be accompanied by Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt. All that as we build our way to the Royal Rumble.
WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: AJ Styles (c) vs. James Ellsworth
RESULTS: AJ Styles wins via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: This match went exactly as it should have. It lasted three seconds and AJ squashed him. I'm assuming the massive beatdown James receives next is the way to write him off tv until he is a surprise entrant in the rumble.
After the match, AJ Styles pummels Ellsworth taking him outside the ring and using the steel steps to his advantage and then catapulting James from while his head was underneath the ring. He grabs his belt and begins to leave but then decides to go back.
PROMO (In-Ring): AJ grabs a mic and apologizes for the beating he just handed to James, but quickly takes that apology back saying it was a long time coming. They are wheeling Ellsworth out on a stretcher, and Styles says its time for him to move on to 2017. Its a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year for him as he has the WWE Championship. That brings out Dolph Ziggler, the new #1 contender. He reminds AJ that he is next in line, AJ says he forgot because its going to be a cakewalk since all Dolph does is lose. Dolph tells him that it won't be that easy as he risked his entire career for the IC Title so what do you think he is willing to do for the WWE Title? The two continue to argue as Baron Corbin comes to the ring. Baron seems to target Dolph, and AJ leaves the ring. Baron says that it should be him challenging AJ, as Dolph has been given so many chances. Dolph reminds him that he earns his shots, but Baron says the only reason he earned anything is because he wasn't around. Next week when Dolph challenges for the title he will lose, because he doesn't steal the show he steals opportunities. It ends with an End of Days for Ziggler.

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: The Miz (c) (w Maryse) vs. Apollo Crews
Maryse gets sent to the back by the official after she was caught getting ready to hit Apollo.
RESULTS: The Miz wins via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Apollo is by far the most underrated performer in all of WWE. He impresses the shit out of me, and will one day soon hold some sort of gold. But he sure has been getting the raw end of the deal lately.
PROMO (In-Ring): Renee Young asks Miz if his obsession with Dean Ambrose got in the way of him winning the fatal four way last week. He says that they should talk about Renee's obsession with Dean since she is the one sleeping with him. Renee slaps him and leaves.
BREAKING NEWS: Next week on SmackDown Live there will be a four corners elimination match for the SmackDown Team Titles as The Wyatt Family will defend against Slater & Rhyno, American Alpha, and The Usos.

BREAKING NEWS: Don't forget John Cena is returning to SmackDown next week.
PROMO (In-Ring): Natalya is coming to the ring and I'm assuming its for this whole Nikki Bella thing. Yep. She says she is tired of rumors, and asks Nikki to come to the ring and then Carmella comes out as well. Nikki still thinks its Carmella, but she insists that if she attacked her she would be bragging about it. Carmella keeps saying Natty is a liar, and says that Natty told her someone needs to teach Nikki a lesson. Then lists things that Natty has said about the Bella's like no one cared about them or that they complain until they get what they want. She calls Carmella a snitch, and Nikki says it must be true that Natty attacked her. Then Natty attacks Carmella, but she gets away. Natty grabs a mic and admits that she attacked Nikki. Calling her a bitch and saying that she never liked her. She is a Neidhart which means she is wrestling royalty, and the Bellas got everything handed to them because of their beauty. She may be beautiful but she is a nothing, and thats why John will never marry her. Damn.. This promo packed some heat.

PROMO (Backstage): Daniel Bryan tells Alexa Bliss that Becky will face her next week for the SmackDown Women's Championship. And since she wouldn't compete last week, she has a match this week. Alexa says that whatever happens to the little nobody that she faces this week is on him. Thats three title matches next week for SmackDown. Damn.
MATCH: Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper (w Wyatt Family)
RESULTS: Dean Ambrose wins via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Good match. Really wanted to see a clean win for Luke instead, but we can't always get what we want.
Right after the match, The Wyatt Family attacks Dean. At first, I thought I'd hate Orton in in The Wyatt Family. But as this goes on, I absolutely love it.
After The Wyatt Family disappears, The Miz comes out when Dean can't even get to his feet. He hits a Skull Crushing Finale and he and his wife revel in their accomplishment. All they need is an IC Title match next week, and every SmackDown title will be on the line.

MATCH: Alexa Bliss vs. Some masked lady
The announcers keep calling her "The Luchadora" but she is wearing a blue body suit with red tights and a purple mask. I'm sure she will be unmasked after the match and it'll be someone from the roster. My guess is Becky.
Yep it is. She just used Becky's Disarmer to win.
RESULTS: The Masked Lady(Becky Lynch) wins via submission.
THOUGHTS: This was pretty clever. I'm a fan.
After the match, Becky removes the mask revealing that its really her.
PROMO (Backstage): Ryan Phillippe, the star of USA's new show Shooter, is around look for Randy Orton. Mojo comes in and chats for a bit, as does Curt Hawkins. This ends up boiling down to a match between Mojo and Curt later tonight.

THOUGHTS: Look at it for what it is. Time filler and Shooter plug.

PROMO (Backstage): We see James Ellsworth, bandaged up from head to toe, he is asked if he wants to comment about his earlier match with AJ and if he is still friends with Dean. All he is saying is "ow" and just in pain. Then Carmella comes in saying that he is clearly in pain and says that she will take care of him. Even calls him "baby" twice..
MATCH: Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler
Dolph has decided to put his title opportunity on the line. So whoever wins will take on AJ Styles for the WWE Championship next week.
AJ Styles is on commentary.
RESULTS: Double count out.
THOUGHTS: This was fun. Getting AJ involved was great, and this could be a killer triple threat match if thats what we see.
AJ was ran into during the match, so afterwards he takes a steel chair to both guys.
PROMO (In-Ring): Daniel Bryan comes out and announces that next week will be a triple threat match for the WWE Championship. AJ Styles vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin. Next week is looking GREAT for the blue brand.
